    Great TN Airshow pics

Here are just a few of the 3000 photos I shot on Sunday at the Great TN Airshow. I do apologize for some of the back lighting as the flight line faced into the sun all afternoon.

    Enjoy!

    Some props:

    And back to the jets

Thanks guys! I appreciate your kind words. I wish the light had been better (not facing into the sun during the performances). I'll be posting more pics as I get them edited.

Not bad :) Mike Goulian, Rob Holland and Jason Newburg on one air show... could it be better ?? yes It could at OC, MD :) add Tim Weber, 4 big buys during the one show :)

Good stuff, Im going to see my first air show of 2011 season this Friday, Langley AFB :) Then Andrews, then Millville :)

IS anyone planning trip from NY to see JSOH Andrews air show ?? I know Mark will be there and Maybe Manny... Kaz how about you ??

and.... Why don't we put our airshow topics in to the EVENTS section like was before. Just to keep this place clean and easy to navigate :)

Thanks Chris. Was cool to see those guys go up together and "duel" with each otehr so to speak.

And as far as posting in the EVENTS section, I realized that after posting and have already sent and email to Phil to see if he can move the thread to the EVENTS section.

What is it with backlit aircraft at airshows??? It was like that for me at N57 last June, and will probably be the same at Reading in a few weeks. When the B-2 overflew N57, it was basically just a silhouette. That a/c is hard enough to photograph to begin with.

I know they have to set up in certain ways, but some fields are just NOT suited for afternoon airshow photography

You got that right. I wish the ramp on the other side of Smyrna was large enough to park all the static displays so that the performances in the afternoon could be photographed. Oh well. I tried the best i could to make due and try to get the a/c as they went off to the sides.

Steve......nice work! I'll be meeting up with Chris and Manny at the Joint Service Open House (JSOH) Andrews air show. I hope the weather and light is good. Then on Memorial Day weekend I'll be out at Jones Beach shooting the air show there. Usually when shooting the air show at Jones beach, I'll spend a day shooting from Republic Airport and then from the beach the day before (during their practice runs).

Thanks Mark. I wish I were able to attend JSOH and there is a slight possibility that I will be able to attend the Jones Beach show.
