[quote="hiss srq"]Just to clear up misconceptions on the Huey it actually belongs to the State Police, they brought her in for the open.
These are former NYDEC ships who merged with the NYSPD some ten years ago. N19SP and N129SP are two that I know of.
Is it bunking at Atlantic or on the State PD pad?
Caught N19SP at FRG a while back:Originally Posted by Gerard

it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.
Nah someone confused it for a guard bird. I was just clearing it up. The 106 got rid of their Huey's about 12 years ago or so. That is all. And it is flying from the State ramp.Originally Posted by Gerard

Not to argue, but since I've been watching it take off and land from outside my window, I can state they are using Atlantic's ramp. I grabbed a shot yesterday evening, will post sometime this week.Originally Posted by hiss srq

That shot was from the summer of 2007, and I believe they were doing the same thing then.Originally Posted by Gerard

The NYSP Bell430 stayed the night last night. Both the Huey & Bell430 are stuck here due to the rain....and they are still on Atlantic's apron. ;)

One or both will probably be here for the whole Open. Back in 2002 they used a 430 and a 407 to supplement the County Air
Bureau. Whenever there is an event on State park property they bring in one or two State copters. They did this for the Air
Show and usually for the July 4th fireworks. And if I'm correct they stage at an LZ at the State Park PD HQ at the golf course
area when the rounds are in action.
Since I was in the area tonight, I stopped by to see Snoopy.

Nice shot John,
Must be kind of cool to land that thing and see the ground below you start to glow :)
I saw that one flying along the shoreline the other day when I was in the area of Bayswater.
Senga
I wonder if they have a lav on board that bad boy.
