More 747's being parked. :(Japan Airlines will sell or park nine wide-body aircraft in October when it discontinues scheduled air cargo service. JAL has operated freighter flights for more than 50 years, but the recent downturn has taken its toll on the business. The company says it will now try to sell more cargo space on passenger flights as it focuses on a return to profitability.
