This a/c has been prowling around Seattle for a few days now, and I finally got the chance to bag it today. Note the GEnx-2B powerplant for the 748i plugged onto the number two engine. Also of note on this frame: it is the 25th 747 ever produced, and one of the few remaining 747-100 variants still flying today. Before testing the 748i engine, it also tested the 787 powerplant, and the 777 GE-90 before that. It has a dedicated camera on the number 2 engine for the flight director to keep tabs on the test engine, along with glass cockpit mods for the pilot to regulate the test engine as though it were on a 748i. It served with Pan Am (N744PA Clipper Ocean Spray) from 1970 to 1991 when it was sold to GE.
