Bayport Aerodrome Fly-In 8/15 (Lotsa Pix)

I hate to say it, but I'm glad the Grand Old Air Show was canceled. If it wasn't, I may not have been able to attend this awesome event. I can think of nothing better than to hang out at a grass strip all afternoon, only feet away from vintage aviation beauties as they taxi and take off. Noting beats the sounds and the smells, and my stars these birds were clean! Spotless, factory fresh! I'm slightly annoyed that this was my first visit, since I feel I have missed out on this cool place for so long.

Hella backlit all day, but I had plenty of fun with the panning!

Bringing a new meaning to the term "tail dragger."

His mistake? Attempting to wave while taking off. Bad idea.

The "OH SH*T" moment, kicking up dirt. He recovered after a few bounces, thankfully.

Comments are appreciated; Constructive criticism will not only be welcomed, but treated to a fresh meal, warm shower, and a comfy place to stay for the evening as it goes about its travels.

Gorgeous shots despite the backlighting. :)
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9

Backlit would be my only criticism, but that probably is out of your own control there. I really enjoyed those shots!

That was a GREAT day! I am a member of BAS and brought the family with me. No sooner did I get there when I was drafted to be a bombadier in that tail draggin 150 90Q. I think I missed the target miserably. Good company and good food...we stayed until just before dark when the kiddies started to get eatin by the mosquitos. To round out the perfect day I ran into two friends I had not seen in at least six years since my days at Summit Aviation, John Kernaghan and his wife Kim, I knew both from Summit. Also Joe Devito who I went to Dowling with and is now flying for Jet Blue.

Here are some of mine from that day

    Cheers,
    Peter
