    Curious Saudi Arabian Flight

Alot of them make you wonder but this one really got me

A 747SP from Morocco to Guantanamo Bay and then back... what business do they have there with the VIP SP I wonder. Picking up some of the prisoners maybe??

SVA uses their aircraft to pick up released prisoners from Guantanamo. Many are sent to Saudi Arabia, processed and then assimilated into the society.

ironically, that's just about the perfect word to describe it. there was an article in the times today about prisoners from Gitmo being moved abroad. at this point i'm too lazy to find it but i'm sure that many of them are going to Saudi. i'd have thought they'd send a C-130 instead of the 747SP though.
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.

They are pretty much putting them back out there in society in a nation where many dislike us as it is. Those guy's will be back for sure.

C-130 can't make that trip non-stop, and there probably aren't many countries along the route that would appreciate them stopping for fuel with Al Qaeda on board.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9

I wouldn't say that. I know C-130's are capable of 13 hours of flight with the extra internal fuel bladder or 11 or so without it depending on the load. This was only about a 9 hour flight. It could prob make it one stop home via Morocco like the SP did.

I'm not familiar with 747s. My planes used 8s. Just go with it.
