Slowly myself and a few buddies are beginning to formulate a plot to head down under to Western Australia to railfan the Pilbara region's iron roads. It'll be probably May 2010 in the dry season. Obviously we're flying. :P

Looks like it will probably be all on Qantas....
KJFK to YSSW (Sydney) with a stop at KLAX (737-438).
YSSW (Sydney) to YPPH (Perth) (767-300ER).
YPPH (Perth) to YPPD (Port Hedland) (737-800).

I don't mind the 34hr flight time each way, but I've never flown QAF. I was wondering if anybody has any experience with them? Any comments, positive or negative? The meals usually decent? How are their 74's for comfort?

Granted, I've never read anything negative about them, but extra opinions never hurt.

Thanks in advance guys!
