Spotting on July 3rd

Ok based on the new weather reports looks like July 3rd should be a promising day to spot. I'll be going out to JFK maybe LGA early. Who else will be out there?

At LGA at least US has a MAJOR reduced schedule due to Juty 4th, just FYI !

I tell ya if the wx is awesome and Plainview park is an option I may consider it, but I am not driving there to shoot in the terminal. We will play it by ear.

Hello. I would be happy to join a group, I'm new at this and don't know my way around yet. I've been to Planeview park once but the planes were taking off on runway 22 :(. I havent even tried JFK yet. Where is everyone meeting, I'd love to meet people who like aviation photography. I don't have a car or anything so im stuck using public.

Why the frown?! Runway 22 deps from Planeview are awesome! Do you mean they were departing runway 4 (away from Planeview)?

yes, I meant runway 4, i wasnt sure which one to call. Now I'm monitoring the lga feed for a good opertunity to go.

Well there's always a good chance that they're arriving on 22, and there's a park (spot D on the LGA map: http://nycaviation.com/lgaspotting) which is easily accessible by public transportation, and great for skyline and side-on shots of 22 arrivals.
