    Spotting Sept 5 JFK

Well, it's not a great picture, and it's not an IL-62, but I caught this visitor leaving Monday afternoon:

It's a TU-154M (Reg OM-BYR) belonging to the Slovak Republic. I was over at Inwood Park, shooting Rwy 4 approaches, when they swapped to Rwy 13 departures, and saw this thing come over.

I still need to go through my stuff from the weekend, and I'll try to post a few other interesting things as I come across them.

That is fantastic!! Its always exciting to catch rare birds like that. You just have to love how strange Russian aircraft look.

Here's a few more from Monday.

These were taken from North Woodmere Park of Rwy 04 departures:

Then I headed over to Inwood Park to take a look at 04 arrivals:

Don't know if it's unique to this 340, but check out the "FIFA World Cup Germany 2006" markings aft of the wing.

And how about a little formation flying?

While you are waiting for the next arrival, there's always this:

As I was leaving, they swapped to 13 departures, and I managed to get this:

Almost didn't get that Cargolux one. I had walked back to the car & put the camera on the seat, then went over to fill up my water bottle at a fountain, when I saw it coming. I ran back, grabbed the camera & started shooting. Got about a half dozen, and what you don't see are the power lines I was shooting between.

If there were hot girls there, do you think I would have shot so many aircraft?
