Dallas/Fort Worth Area Airports -12/2015 (Image Heavy)
Hey Guys,
Between graduating college, family and personal medical adventures, I have fallen quite a bit behind on editing and posting... well much of anything. As such, this set is my "return" to Texas if you will, but I haven't actually posted the photos from my farewell spotting with friends (maybe in 2016) That being said, I think I scored some nice images this past weekend and wanted to share. As indicated in the title, this thread will be rather robust in terms of image quantity (and I hope quality :) )
Starting off with some terminal action from ATL and DFW
I was excited to be back on one of my former AirTran 717s for my flight to DAL, and these two were set up nicely for a shot

While a quick lap around DFW before departing on Tuesday netted some nice views

Old livery AA 737s are increasingly turning up with new-livery radomes, so I was pleased to catch a pure oldie

Envoy's 1st E-175, still yet to enter service, sitting before a training flight

And the Emirates A380

On arrival, I stuck around DAL for a little bit to enjoy the Biz and WN traffic

I dashed over to DFW for a 747 that wound up landing on the East side, but stuck around for some nice light

Gotta shoot these while you can

I thought I would have to work hard to bag the new 787s, but as with this summer, the Asia flights are perfectly timed for photos

The evening light was just divine out there at Founder's Plaza

And I kinda pushed it a little with this MD-11 a short while after sunset...

This ended day one, but the rarer and more interesting catches were yet to come ;)
To be continued....

Continuing with day 2 :)
I had a bit of a score to settle with the CATBird, so to finally cross paths again under such nice weather conditions was fantastic. A Far cry from the rain of my last attempt

Next up was Alliance to enjoy some daylight FedEx action

Before it was back to DFW for some more of that fantastic winter light

At this point I have to say that the lack of MD-80s at DFW was both notable and disturbing. I remember not that long ago when I could see 10 consecutive MD-80 arrivals on 18R... in an afternoon at Founder's I was lucky to clear 7-8 MD-80s this past week. Bit sad to see

Once again decided to try to push the light a bit with this Sun Country after sunset.

The pace slowed up my last few days, but there were still some worthwhile frames to be had :)

And for the finale :)
Day 3 opened with a bit of a mad dash to bag this, my first DHL 767 in flight, which I had wanted for a while
ABX 767-200ER by Nicholas Peterman, on Flickr
The rest of day was spent in pursuit of something that will be the subject of another post next year, so it wasn't until the next afternoon that I got back to any spotting, which unfortunately featured north ops at DFW

Surprise visitor of the day was this ATI 767, departing with what little light remained at sunset.

I was totally excited to score this next jet! I got a heads up about a special Korean visitor and braved Monday morning traffic, and it was well worth it

All in all, it was a great trip and a wonderful way to sorta jump back into spotting! Hope you enjoyed, and thank you for checking it out :D
Cheers!

Nick I wondered what you had been up to. Congrats on graduation! My favorite believe it or not is UPS. Light on that rules

The reoccurring theme here? CLEAN. CLEAN Shots of CLEAN Planes! Wow! What a profitable trip back to Texas. You CLEANed up.
Okay, enough of that…
I feel compelled to congratulate you however on this grab:
[QUOTE=NickPeterman;509458]Hey Guys,
My first 200 in the new livery
Expressjet CRJ-200, II by Nicholas Peterman, on Flickr
Why? Because these CR2's aren't long for this world! Looking at Google Maps, Kingman, AZ is quickly filling with 50 seat jets. So, shoot em while you can, and if at all possible in gorgeous light like you've done sir.
Congrats on making the CR2 look fantastic!

Thank you all for the kind words! I was very happy with the entire set, but the CatBird was definitely up there :)
The pink sky on that UPS bird was sort of a surprise to me, I'm not a great low light shooter so I was stunned that came out given it was like 1/25 second on the exposure.
Skyteam, CR2s rule. New livery AA CR2s really rule. I have been trying to shoot them as best I can :)

Nice photos!!! If you're liking the CRJ200s in the new colors come to PHL... they are there in increasing numbers (Air Wisconsin and PSA).
