    CLT 10/03/10 (An-225 Mriya!)

Got to see Mryia at CLT today!
A once in a lifetime shot. This plane is absolutely huge! Transporting rotors that had been fixed by Seimens in Charlotte. This plane was scheduled to leave on October 2nd to Bangor and then to Ukraine, but the #3 engine failed. It is scheduled to get repaired tomorrow (October 4th) and possibly leave on that date.

Only allowed 2 of the same plane in the queue lol:

Very, Very impressive! Now those are both aircraft I would hope never to see at LGA! Do you (or anyone) know the most common airports for the 225 to visit in the US?

    Have a good one,

Thanks Chris. As to your question, I'm not sure if it's really possible to tell where it goes most, but it's been to CLT 2 times this year and in 2001. I know it's been to KBGR and KMIA, but I'm not sure where else. Does anyone want to chime in?

Nice shots, apparently it flew directly over my house at 17,000 feet enroute to Bangor last night.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9

We were discussing this on PHL Spotters a couple of months ago and apparently the -225 has been to PHL once, back in the 90's, and apprently you could get a tour of it if you 'knew somebody"

GothamSpotter- Yeah I was waiting for it to takeoff, but of course it was delayed and I had marching band practice. Wonder why it was so low..
megatop- That would be cool. They had it open at some airshow, if you go JP.net, you can see a bunch of pictures of the inside.

I saw it at EWR in 2005 or 2006; got a heads-up from someone on this board, if I remember correctly, and made a trip over there. It parked on the southern cargo ramp (Fedex/UPS).
