These delays are simply amazing, I am not sure how many delays the program can handle. What started off as a $12 billion - $15 billion project, will more than likely soar over $20 billion....

The board of Airbus parent is expected on Tuesday to decide on a cost-cutting programme and assess the impact of the latest delay in its A380 superjumbo plane, which one newspaper report said could now slow 2007 deliveries to just two aircraft.

Airbus said in June it expected to deliver nine A380s next year, down from an original target of 20 to 25. It said last month there would be fresh delays, but declined to be more specific pending the outcome of the board meeting.

said on Tuesday it had been informed of a further 10-month delay in the Airbus A380 superjumbo and said it was a "very serious" issue for the airline. "Our first aircraft will now arrive in August 2008.

This is a very serious issue for Emirates and the company is now reviewing all its options," Emirates President Tim Clark said in a statement.

I'm not in the airline industry but I imagine that Boeing is going to take full advantage of the circumstance and get some additional business. Maybe it's time to buy some Boeing stock!

Airbus has their hands full now, the carriers that placed orders are getting impatient. Airbus better do something because the figures are slowly becoming staggering. Then if they do deliver the first ones and it fails then they have trouble.

I am deaf so i can't hear em

But it wouldn't surprise me to hear some calling Boeing to get some things aisde should the A380 not come through for the customers.

QANTAS has today announced
that the delivery of its first A380
aircraft has been delayed for
another year until Aug 2008 due to
“production problems” at Airbus.
Qantas chief financial officer
Peter Gregg said the airline expects
to have four aircraft by the end of
2008 and another seven by mid
2009 which he said “maintains the
original delivery schedule with the
other two launch airlines”.
Gregg expressed his
disappointment with the delay and
said the carrier would now review
its capacity in light of the revised
timetable from Airbus.
He also said Qantas is satisfied
that the delay was a problem on
Airbus’ side and “not technical
issues with the aircraft”.
It’s expected that Qantas will now
seek further compensation from
Airbus for the delays.

Not sure what that means - are they saying there aren't problems with the aircraft, but rather it's Airbus management that's screwed up?
