News12.com is reporting a plane registered to a LI resident crashed in Connecticut this afternoon, with one dead and one injured. From the Stamford Advocate it was a single engine Piper, which went down around 2:30pm. I wonder if it was based out of FRG, and that's how the story got started.

Very possible. I tried searching anything on the news sites and came up empty.

Belmont Stakes today. Any good jets at FRG? Weather not looking good. I'll probably do a run past later this afternoon. Errands with the wife come first.

Around 1PM did hear that an S76 landed and then was heading over to the Belmont pad. I drove past about an hour later and except for a Gulfsteam landing it was QUIET!! In
fact the Atlantic pad was as empty as I've ever seen. And the weather was as dreary as could be so I kept going and headed back home.

I think it was registered out east, so could have been based at ISP or Brookhaven.

Wife and I drove around FRG this afternoon, and except for a bunch of cars by the AAM, the airport seemed empty...haven't seen it this quiet in a long time.
    It's the fares, stupid
