    Dramatic Temperature Drop in NYC

The temperature at Central Park dropped 18 degrees in an hour this afternoon with the passing of some thunderstorms that raced through at 50mph ahead of a cold front. The 3:51 reading was 84...at 4:51 it was 66.

    Same at EWR...dropped from 86 to 68.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9

last night was definately interesting. i was in the garage doing a tune-up on my car when the front came though. my garage faces east so i never saw it, all of a sudden i look outside and do a double-take of the clock on the wall. right then the sky just opened up and let loose...
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.

Went to the Met game last night. Fortunately, I was in the company suite, dry, with food and drink. I thought they would never get the game started, but sure enough, at 10:15, they did. Finally bailed out around midnight (I was riding with a couple of co-workers, and it was an early morning). Certainly some interesting weather.
