    Pilot/Rock Star

Super guitarist Steve Morse who now plays in "Deep Purple" is also a pilot and at one time in his
career (1987)after touring with his band the Dixie Dregs and two albums with "Kansas" chucked the rock star world away and got a real job....as a commercial airlines pilot. That was for about a year
then he went back to playing guitar. Thank goodness. This man is incredible and at one point he
was winning Guitar Players best guitar player every year. So much that he humbly asked to take
his name off the list. Nice guy who I met once after a Dregs gig.
But the point of this post is his Deep Purple Tour blog on his website
http://www.stevemorse.com On the right side click "May 26 Notes From The Road" then "Road
Report 26 May, 2007" He discusses the use of electronic devices on planes during takeoff/landings. Interesting.
BTW Deep Purple is playing Radio City Music Hall August 7. Into good classic rock they still kick
butt. I saw them a few years ago and the were excellent.

FYI Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden fame is apparently an FO for UK charter airline Astraeus.
"Iron Maiden? EXCELLENT!"- Bill & Ted (for those old enough to remember)
