Check this thread for my shots from ISP today when the Raptors arrived.
Seems FRG had the better weather for the Blues.

Thanks for the shots guys. I'll stop by FRG on Saturday and JB on Sunday. Getting back in NY tomorrow night.
I'll be at the beach for practice almost all day tomorrow, if anyone is going to be around let me know.
I'll be making a quick swing by Republic tomorrow to catch the departure to Maryland (9:00am), then I will head straight to the beach.
I absolutely LOVED the weather at FRG today...the sporadic rain showers provided for some crazy lighting, and great cloud backdrops. Compared to last year, I am so much happier with the way my pictures have been coming out. I think I'm starting to learn a thing or two about this photography thing.
Here's the tip of the iceberg:
And the takeoff that blew everybody's hats off...literally. (Taken at 70mm...if only I had panned upward more!!! :x )
Shoot first, ask questions later.

Is any day going to be necessarily better than the other? I know the weather will be great for both, but I was just wondering if any of the two days had any advantages like less traffic or people.
Also, I'm wondering if my 70-200mm will be sufficient enough for beach shots. I do have that 1.6x magnification from the camera, though.
Nice shots, Dan! They are looking good.
I don't think there will be much (if any) difference in the show, and I don't think the traffic or crowds will be much different. I've gone on Sunday the past two years, and both days the year before. It's going to be crowded...Originally Posted by heeshung

Those are some great shots, Moose. The last one with the dark clouds really looks great!
Stupid question, I know, but will all seven Blues be on the ramp for Saturday night?
Thanks! If you mean for Night Under the Stars, no the Blues will not be there. They are parked across the field at the main terminal ramp. Unfortunately, we will not have access to that area for our shoot.

Shucks. I've always wanted to be right up close to them. Fair enough though.
nice shot. Was that at about....840 AM on Thursday AM? I was heading into the gym, sitting on Wellwood ave at the light when she thundered upward!Originally Posted by GrummanFan
I too am considering heading out on Sunday, if only to give the baby a taste of the Blues.
If I were to leave the house to be there at noon and book outta there as soon as they are done, are the odds that I'll be stuck in traffic? If so I'll pass this year...again.
And plan it in 2 years so that I am off on Friday :)
And I, I took the path less traveled by
and that has made all the difference......yet...
I have a feeling a handle of people are going to be very interested in what I post in the near future.

So, the day before the show my dad decides to exchange the L lens with Canoga Camera in California because of a speck of dust in one of the inner lens that he claims he found. It won't be back for a couple weeks at least.
Shots with that EF-S 18-55mm? Personally, I think not.
The only way to get the planes bigger than mere specks in a photo would be to convince him to buy that Fujifilm S700 that he's been leaning towards for a while. It's not an SLR, but it's better than the 350D with a 55mm lens.
Right?
Oh, and great shots by the way.
Here are a few from today:
David Windmiller - he lost his canopy during practice at the beach, and returned with an open cockpit

Excellent photos Moose and Wunaladreamin,
Did the F-22 do multiple passes or just a flyover?
Which runway did the Blue Angels use for takeoff and landing?
Thanks
Moose and Fred check your PM boxes.
Great shots guys!
