Unfortuantely Josh I am back in NY.If you're still on the West Coast and plan on doing any more shooting in Arizona, drop me a line if you'd like some company.
Well GYR is public but a little tricky. Morning stuff is hard. You have to shoot from the main part of the airport and people are usually ok. Though subjects to shoot are few and in tough positions. If you want the good stuff you have to wait till the later afternoon and you have to walk a ways. If you take Litchfield road and make a right on Yuma and go a bit, you will pass the DC7. After that on your left is a new road that leads into this huge piece of property that is being developed as airpark business buildings. You have to take this road to the end and park and walk a ways to the fence. Bring a step ladder and shoot quickly. The cops will most likely be called if you hang around awhile. They are nice but will be very thorough and may ask to see the pics you took and will suggest that you leave. Tell them what your about and be nice and comply. It's the type of place where they see many of us but won't be warm to the "It's legal to do this stuff" Remember that where this spot is located is private property and will shortly be a constuction area the big equipment has already been grading the dirt and surrounding desert. I suggest you go there one day and shoot everything you want in a timely manner and monitor the progess of the work being done there. Long term it will be good for all to leave time between spotting visits so the people developing the area don't get pissed.is GYR actually open to the public such that you can walk around and take pictures? I'd like to head over there, but have never shot there before, and thus don't know how to get shots on the field like that.

My latest JP upload and one of my more unique ones, by the way, I was surprised at 6 feet I can stand upright under a Saab 340 wing, it kept me dry for most of about 20 shots I took of this one, one more in the que.

Great shot of a shiny AA Mad Dog Mark, but for the record that's a Rwy 22 departure.
Cheers
