Just booked this one, tomorow early AM me and my girlfriend are splitting off from the folks and sister and catching a Spirit flight from FLL to TPA on flight NKS360 and drving down to SRQ to spend till Friday morning home in Sarasota. From there we will be flying JetBlue back to JFK on JBU346. Not super thrilled about the weather on the Gulf but it is good to be in the"home state" Might even go do a bit of spotting while I am home in SRQ. Not much action there but I have never actually shot at SRQ with my SLR. That is, barring girlfriend objections.

In Tommys defense pretty sure SAO is the generic city (not airport) code since their are mutliple airports, at least 2 but I believe 3 that have scheduled airline service, similar to the US city codes NYC and CHI.

Taking my first trip to LA

    1/14
    COA1002 EWR-LAX
    737-900

    1/18
    COA1403 LAX-EWR
    737-900

I would have prefered the 752 flights but the price was too good for these segmets, only $239 with taxes r/t. I still can't believe it

We have an MD90 also but that is an afternoon flight and I needed to get into SLC as early as possible so, sadly couldn't fly the MD90.

    Coming up for winter break:

    Tues 12/15/09
    IND-DTW, NWA DC9
    ...3 hours...
    DTW-LGA, NWA DC9

    Sat 1/9/10
    LGA-DTW, NWA DC9
    ...3 hours...
    DTW-IND, NWA DC9

$180.40 RT. It's part mileage run, part history books, part wacko.

Also, stepping back over the last few weeks, I've got these trips under my belt:
    ________

    Tues 11/24/09
    IND-LGA, Shuttle America E170

    Mon 11/30/09
    LGA-IND, CHQ E145...ugh...
    ______

    Sat 10/31/09
    MKE-MSP, Delta 320
    MSP-LAX, Delta 752

    Sun 11/1/09
LAX-SEA, Alaska 738 (first time, awesome flight)
    SEA-NRT, Delta 333
    NRT-PEK, Delta 332

    Sat 11/7/09
    PEK-NRT, Delta 332
    NRT-LAX, NWA 744
    LAX-MSP, Delta 753 (first one)
    MSP-MKE, Delta 752

The return trip took exactly 24 hours. Not recommended for those who are sick in every imaginable way. Like I was.

Pics from the China trip will come soon, too!

Looking to do some combination of China, Australia, and/or Europe in 2010.

it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.
