That Falcon is a nice add to the collection...a classic bizjet turned cargo hauler
I got an alert that N304JB, JetBlue's Blueprint, was inbound to CLT this afternoon from Boston. They were landing to the south, so I assumed they were going to come in on Rwy 23. Looking at FlightAware, the were seemingly lined up for 23 for a couple of hundred miles, and I was up on the hourly deck to catch it. As it got close, it made a jink to the west, and came in on 18R. I hung around a while, and was able to catch it departing on 18L back to Boston.

I caught a McGuire C-17A on Saturday evening down in the cargo area. They fueled it, then buttoned up for the night.

We had an Evelop Airlines A330-300 come in to CLT on Thursday night. It was bringing a plane load of State Farm Insurance employees back from a trip to Stockholm, Sweden. They had left a week ago on an Air Austral 777 (I missed it, you don't need the story...) The A330 arrived around 9pm and headed back out just after Midnight.

The Austral 777 also came to JFK a couple of weeks ago on the XL flight.
We had a pair of C-130Hs at Wilson on Saturday afternoon, one from the Wyoming ANG, and one from the Georgia ANG out of Savannah.

I haven't been to CLT in several weeks - I have been out shooting, and will share some of that stuff too - but I was out for a bit Friday night after work.
A whole bunch of Via Air action:
A new look for Swift Air. This is an old US Airways 734, N438US.
The extension for A-Concourse is coming along nicely.
Some of the ARFF folks were out and about - they were ramp side when I got to the Overlook, so they probably escorted someone to the terminal. I caught them as they crossed 18C heading back to the barn.
The PGA Championship will be played in Charlotte next week, and the preparations are well under way. They always park a large number of these in a fenced-in lot near the Wilson FBO, but I found a bunch on the top of the hourly deck as well. This is a major tournament, and will have a big turnout, so it looks like they have extra vehicles.

As I was about to leave work today, I checked the CLT spotters FB page, and saw an alert that a Qatar 777 was diverting due to weather in ATL. Of course I ran down to the airport. It had already landed when I got there. The ended up parking it on the south cargo ramp, something they don't often do, but I thing the main ramp must have been busy.

John, nice catch on the Qatar 777 and the Evelop A330. Keep'em coming!
Thanks, Mark!
It was a bit of an air show at CLT today.
First, we had a C-17 from the Mississippi ANG depart - they arrived late Saturday afternoon and spent the night. The NC ANG wing at Charlotte will be transitioning to C-17s later this year, so this will be a more familiar sight.
Next up was a 4-ship of T-38s out of the 1st Fighter Wing at Langley. They are used as adversary training for the F-22 squadrons, as well as proficiency training for the F-22 pilots. They dropped in for a gas and go.
And yes, I did check my log book, and no, I didn't fly any of these T-38s in pilot training...

Looks like it's been a while since I've posted any CLT stuff, so let me catch up a little...
Two weeks ago, this AA 763 came in from JFK for a quick stop before heading to San Juan to help with relief efforts following Hurricane Irma.
Embraer ERJ-135LR of Ultimate Jet Charters - Ultimate operates the Dornier 328 jets, as well as this single ERJ. From recent news items I've seen, at least one of the private jet charters taken by HHS Secretary Tom Price was on this jet, although not when I caught it at CLT.
Last weekend, the Buffalo Bills used two DL 757s to travel for their game against the Carolina Panthers.
We had an An-124 come in last week (they are almost regulars...) While I wasn't able to shoot it where it was parked, I did get up to the hourly deck for some shots.
The New Orleans Saints were in town to play the Panthers today. Their next game is next Sunday in London, England. Virgin Atlantic has the NFL charter deal for all of the London games, and sent this A340 to pick them up.

Love the shots and and background of the T-38's that passed through
So do you guys have your own version of Allied Barton security that comes up to the parking deck to hassle people? Or do you get left alone up there
Thank you! We don't have any problems with security on the parking deck. After the new hourly deck opened, I was up there a few times when airport police (they are a unit of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department) stopped by to say hello. First officer that approached me said "This must be your new favorite place for pictures!" I've had CMPD stop by a few times, and we even had a couple of TSA folks come over, and they were all fine with us being out there. There's even one CMPD officer who has come out there with a camera to shoot the skyline and moonrise a couple of times.

Haven't been out to CLT much the past month or so, but I took a ride down Friday afternoon to catch this Russian beast. We were camped out at the overlook next to 18C when he came in...on 18L.
Lufthansa arrived on 18L while I was up on the hourly deck.
AA's TWA-retro jet visited CLT today - presented for documentation only, and in no way an endorsement of what those bAAstards did to the fine people of TWA.
