Re: A Different Airline Management Game

I've been thinking about naming my planes, although I haven't the slightest idea what I should name them. I could always go with cities, but it'd be cooler if I could do what JetBlue did with their aircraft names. Except nothing goes well with NexxJet Airways. With almost 125 planes in my fleet, this may take a while.

    Any ideas?

Re: A Different Airline Management Game

I've expanded my airline two operate from three of its own hubs now (alliance routes include four other bases): New York-JFK (home base), Oklahoma City, and Modesto. I had a huge expansion project out of Oklahoma City, and now I plan to get some planes to do an expansion out of Modesto. Hopefully I can reach Honolulu by mid 1972 (game time). I am now operating at a DOP of over 2,000,000.

Well I have expanded into world 3 now, so I operate in 2 worlds:

    World 4:
    DOP: €3,445,560
    Airline Value: €97,492,742

    Hubs:
    DTW
    CLT

    37 destinations from DTW
    18 destinations from CLT

    55 routes alltogether

    Fleet:
    3 CASA C212-300
    8 Boeing 737-500 (leased)
    2 Boeing 737-500 (owned)

Right now I am going through replacing leased aircraft with owned ones to lower costs.

    World 3:
    DOP: €1,515,293
    Airline Value: €150,047,615

    Hubs:
    DTW

    28 destinations

    Fleet:

    2 Boeing 737-200 Adv (1 on order)

Goal right now is to expand.

Hey, JetBlueAirwaysFan, Stuart and I were thinking about starting an alliance anew; how would you feel? I joined AAG for the heck of it because my last alliance accepted me but got too lazy to accept me in-game, so I got tired of waiting.

How would you feel about a brand-new alliance? And if you're up for it, I need name suggestions.

Re: A Different Airline Management Game

I have €860,076,152 in cash, and I have absolutely no clue what to spend it on. New planes? Maybe. I could use a couple more 707-320B's. But I've been lazy recently, and I have a couple F-227's and YS-11's and a 707 that's been sitting idle for the past 3 days, since I haven't taken the time to create routes for it.

I'm feeling generous, so if anyone needs a broker with a negative percentage, I'd be happy providing small gifts.

Make sure all your loadfactors are above 95%, and check your projected profits. If necessary, terminate routes with a lot of competition, and choose smaller airports with cheaper gates. Lastly, use either 0.5 or 1 as a frequency. Anything above that is suicide. You'll get more money using the extra free time from the lower frequency on other routes.

Re: A Different Airline Management Game

Okay, I have dropped a lot of routes (my alliance routes) and some crappy US routes. I am also starting to redeploy aircraft out of JFK rather than focus on my new hubs. I guess I just have to wait now.
