Well done Eric, I did not realize you were out there. I know a few others were around. I missed that plane stuck in traffic headded to LaGuardia. I cannot wait to see it though. Well done my friend!

She's so beautiful!
I can't wait to see her, nice catch Eric. :)
I guess this is the review thread for today. Unlike Eric, I stuck around to photograph anything with wings :) New camera doesn't suck! Feedback! Please!
Jet Airways
Cargolux - I shot this one in RAW. All of my RAW pics were very noisy, especially compared to the JPEG my camera created for the same shot. Either my camera has a very good noise reducer, or I don't know what I'm doing, or both :)
An entirely unmarked El Al Cargo plane
Cathay Pacific - I never get out early enough to see this
Virgin America looks good at sunset :)
Royal Jordanian is always a hit
Austrian Star Alliance is back...I had some trouble with the color correction here
British Airways 747 - I really like how this one came out
Lufthansa - ditto
Air China Cargo - This is one of my favorite paint schemes
Nice work Eric getting her maiden flight into Kennedy.
adam613, Nice shots, they all have a nice blue sky to them.
Was there any shutter lag with your new camera?
I had a FZ-20 by the same branded and hated it! It had terrible shutter lag.

Yeah, and most of the skies aren't even that Photoshopped...it really was that nice outside :)Originally Posted by nikon50bigma
There's a little shutter lag, but not bad enough to bother me (ie no clipped noses or tails). I wouldn't have noticed it if my previous camera hadn't been so fast.
The lag that does bother me a bit is writing to the memory card...it takes about 2/3 of a second per picture for hi-res and over 3 seconds for RAW, so burst mode isn't terribly useful. Then again, I'm also not entirely convinced I need to take more than three pictures every two seconds, so I think it's a good tradeoff for the improved picture quality.
Here are some quick edits from sunday.
I will try to post some more later this evening.
Nice pics...
There's already a thread for this: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=8899
Were you at Costco? There were a few of us at Firestone for most of the afternoon...we saw the same planes from a different angle :)
yeah , passed by firestone later on ,did not see anyone there.
you got some nice shots of the ones that i missed.
here are some more:
Nice Shots to all!!
What time did that China Airlines Cargo 747F came in that day??
I normally would see it in the early morning. I did manage to snapshot a China Airlines Cargo at JFK departing in a late afternoon in the summer. Was it late?
