Over Labor Day weekend I flew out to Chicago to spend time with my girlfriend. Luckily she was in the mood to do some spotting, and we made it out for a few afternoons during my stay. This was the first time I've shot O'Hare, though with family in the Chicago area it was not my first time around ORD. We spent most of the time shooting 28C arrivals from the Schiller Park Metra station (Think Panera's angle but much closer), before switching to the old USG parking lot as the sun swung around at the end of the day. I was thrilled to have a better opportunity to shoot some more head-on type shots and use the longer end of the 150-600.
Overall it was a cool experience to get out and shoot at a different airport. The traffic was good, with less heavies than JFK, but there were a handful of new airline/type combos for me. It was fun to meet some of the locals, and I'm sure this will not be my last time shooting ORD! I'll be posting more highlights over the next few days as the work/photoshop/life balance allows!
For now here's a few highlights from early in the afternoon on 9-5.
