Thanks guys!
William, I will see what I can do for you ;)
Of course right after I posted this update I got pulled over to the airport for a rather special visitor...but alas it will have to wait until next week :)

Alright, I promised a special visitor last week, so I guess I need to step up and deliver. This week featured a couple of significant images.
But first, some shots taking advantage of the nice winter light down here in Sydney.

Singapore just pulled some of their A380s from Sydney and Melbourne, with 77W's taking over these rotations

More concrete rumours about VH-OGG have turned up, with it being said she should soon lose the decals, and depart for VCV after a little bit more time in revenue service

In any other week, this photo would have earned itself top honours as the week's highlight, but it was not to be the case. I just happened to be waiting for an arrival when this little Saab landed and taxied by. I was vaguely aware of a small airline called Vincent Aviation, which had picked up a single route out of Sydney to a remote community following the failure of another regional carrier, Brindabella. Because it was a bit of a rare sight, only one flight a day, I was of course eager to snap a few shots. About 24 hours later I learned that Vincent had gone into receivership, the operations terminated, and the aircraft seized the afternoon that I took this photo. Upon some consultation, it would seem that this was their final arrival in Sydney.

But now for the non-plus-ultra of this week, and like all good captures, it has a wee-bit of a story to it. When I first got to Sydney, i set up flight alerts for the 5 things I most wanted to catch if they happened to file in, despite the improbability. After an early success with the All-Black 777, the list had languished in the intervening 3 months with none of my alerts hitting paydirt. Last Wednesday morning I happened to wake earlier than normal and rolled over to check the time on my phone. I saw a text message that "ZK-SUH" was inbound to Sydney. In my half-asleep stupor I had no idea what that meant at first, but then it hit me, Air New Zealand 747! Since I arrived here I had kept a "Go-kit" for emergency spotting purposes, with a full round-trip bus ticket and flip flops in my camera bag at all times so that I could wake and run out the door. I put that plan into good effect, and went from bed to a seat on a bus inside of 8 minutes. Low and behold, I got my ANZ 744. And with the cancellation of the ceremonial flight previously scheduled for later this year, it would seem that it could be the last time one pays a visit to YSSY.

As always, I hope you enjoyed despite the slightly longer blurbs this week.
Ciao!

You are killing it Nick.
Yet another awesome set! Thanks for sharing them Nick!
See those photos...? Their funeral is next week. That set is killer Nick!

Thank you all so much. Based on the weather forecasts and my schedule, it looks like I am officially done spotting at Sydney, sadly. Not a bad way to go out I reckon...
Still enjoying your posts Nick!
Thanks, Smoketrails.
Alright folks, this is it, I believe this will be the final set of photos from Sydney. Weather and school have conspired to run down the clock. Nothing spectacular this week.

So it would appear that my report of the end of my Sydney spotting was slightly premature.
With my plans to travel to Melbourne failing to come through in the end, I suddenly found myself with some additional time in Sydney. Not much traffic of note came through until this past Wednesday when I found excuse to head back out to the beach for a little spotting.
Finally a 787 I hadn't shot, VH-VKA. These things are so quiet that I actually didn't know she was rolling until she had almost passed me

All of these look great! I particularly like the Star Alliance Singapore 773 rotating out of SYD. Vibrant Colors! Excellent Work Mr. Peterman.
Thank you! It was a great way to close out Sydney, with some jets I had wanted for a while.
