I only covered arrivals as I was mainly interested in the Emirates today, everything else was a nice gift. Pleasure to meet Roman finally and his lovely Janice! Panera parking lot started out nice and empty and then quickly became an absolute nightmare...

Chris, always nice hanging out with you. Looking forward to 2012 Airshow season...

ALWAYS a great surprise. Last two visits have been unexpected by me and in terrific light. My first 10 times she came in under poor weather.

A VERY late Copa... I have never seen one land so this was a treat for me.

    I miss the A380 on LH400

My wanted catch of the day

It really bothers me that Cactus does NOT bring their specials to JFK as often as they could

Roman, sorry I spoiled Delft Blue for you

As always, after you fight tooth and nail to catch a special, they seem to come in all the time after you snap them for the first time

Notice the missing nose cone/radar cover (it is normally a soccer ball motif)

While on Rockaway Blvd, sometimes it is nice to have disgusting traffic

Great shots to everyone! Nice catch on the Emirates A380 sticker! Lol Manny, it's ironic you say that, I flew CLT-JFK this summer on the Piedmont heritage bird and then saw the PSA heritage bird a few days later while spotting (of course it was through fog lol).

Thanks Eric... I felt you were out but perhaps would show up later at Panera... thought about the A380 KE departure but, when I got to JFK, she was already pushing back. Didn;t want to run over to HoBe and miss it so I just skipped it and went to Panera

Adam, I tell you, I have seen the Piedmont on the ground once and that was it. NEVER again any other special ... I know they bring them, but so rare. I have to just go to PHL one week and grab all the specials

    Nice work gentlemen!!!

Eric and Chris ..... excellent catch on the newest Korean A380 (HL7615)

Manny ..... nice catches on those specials, especially the Emirates which is on my list.

Here is a shot of British Airways on her way to JFK around flight level 24,000 as seen from my sister's backyard (about 15 ~ 20 miles from Orient Point), taken Nikon D7000 with a 300mm + 1.7 teleconverter. One thing I can say for sure ..... lots of traffic in this area, even saw a Virgin Atlantic A330 heading south to Orlando at flight level 38,000. The only thing I need here would be a 1000mm or so lens, and I may be able to get some nice shots.

Adam, I will, one day ;-)

Thanks Mark... and your shot is very good too for 24 grand... wow. I need to get a crop sensor camera again soon. I really had never imagined the Nikon delays ould be this bad when I sold the D2Xs :-(

BTW, not the best quality, and you have to focus manually but, Kenko 3x TC for Nikon Mount on 80-400mm would get you to 1200mm may need ISO 3200 but you will get better shots at Flight Level ... lol

Kaz, you're running out of excuses man... I want to see you out at Jay Eff Kay this coming weekend, or else. (Of course, my wife will likely say "no way" to me, but that's a different problem)

Kaz........take your work mobile! Work out of Panera, or Bayswater!

Manny...........the question now is, do you go with the D4 or the D800 when it comes out? Do I want more pixels or ISO? I'll take both if I can.

Manny .. weather permitting, I shall be there this weekend .. I have actually worked out a system with wifey to look after Max on the weekends and have my "free time" to head out spotting and it has been working out pretty well ... Believe it or not I am getting more spotting done now than before when we didn't have the baby ... So NO excuses for you SIR !!!!

Mark, not a bad idea .. LOL

Mark awesome shots but I assume you meant Virgin A340 instead of A300? I'm sure it was a typo but I just wanted to be sure before I start losing sleep over it! I'd be laying there half asleep going "mmph...can't be....have to google it in the morning...what would it look like though...."

Also what's up with that reg on the Copa? HP1370CMP????
