fred, any idea who that sabre belongs to?
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.
National Guard?
The three most common expressions in aviation are, "Why is it doing that?", "Where are we?" and "Oh Crap".
From Fred's photo, it looks like the BuNo is 159365. According to Scramble, it belongs to Training Squadron-86 (VT-86) Sabrehawks out of NAS Pensacola. The F/A-18 looks to be out of VFA-87 out of NAS Oceana.Originally Posted by cancidas

Hmm need to head down there in the morning. Hope some of those birds sat overnight
Nice shots!
I was all set to go out to Nikon in Melville to pick up my lense from repairs today and swing by Republic for a while. Turns out when I called Nikon they were closed today but Nikon due to Good Friday, thus scrapping my Republic plans.
Hopefully they will be there on Saturday or maybe staying for the weekend due to Easter.
Again nice shots!

By the way why would 1 hornet from vfa-87 stop by ...? just curious where is the rest of the squadron?...

Probably a pilot who needed some flight time to maintain currency or meet training requirements, and he decided to make a hop to FRG for the weekend. May very well have family/friends in the area, and used the training sortie to make a visit. It's not unusual.

Love the 727. When she came in I was on the other side of the field. Great looking bird.
