A good resource would be the local ACARS we use in Sydney, provided by one of the aforementioned Sydney Message Board members. Go to http://www.16right.com/ and click on the ACARS link. Another option is http://www.acarsd.org which is an international ACARS site. Using both you can search by flight number. QF107 departs at 11:50 local (19:50 in NY) and usually comes up on ACARS shortly thereafter. Here is the 16 Right QF107 search, showing the equipment used recently (I'm not sure why, but it is only showing to the end of Feb).
From memory, the -ERs are the only aircraft that is able to fly MEL-LAX, but SYD-LAX can, and often is, flown by standard -400s, both by QF and UA. I hope this helps, and if I am able to I'll let you all know if I see OEJ departing as QF107

Thanks alot. That will be helpful. QF107 is uaually an ER but we get a standard 400 every now and then.
I was playing with the 16right site but how do you use it?
I tried to use it to see where VH-OEJ was on March 1, but to no avail. SO how do you use to see where she is right now, for example?
And I, I took the path less traveled by
and that has made all the difference......yet...
I have a feeling a handle of people are going to be very interested in what I post in the near future.

What do you think 16right.com is for? its to tell you everything that is going on in Sydney. Wunala was on ACARS today. figure out how to use the site correctly then report back.By the looks of it Wunala hasnt flown since the 26th on that. but according to my last capture of here she was here on the 5th. As I mentioned, for some reason it's only showing to the end of Feb. For more up to date listings maybe use www.acarsd.org instead. I'll email the guy who runs the website and see if its just a temporary problem.
It shows for me. It last did JFK-LAX on the 7th (not sure if that's NY or SYD time). SYD is a day ahead I think.Originally Posted by Gareth Forwood
Mostly. I dont think its a full 24hrs ahead but it is well ahead of us here on the east coastOriginally Posted by Mayi757
It's all Sydney time, so take away 16hrs to get to NY time i.e. Midday in Syd on March 12th is 8pm in NY on Mach 11th. So basically check at around 8pm NY time to see what the next day's QF107 will be. Keep in mind these times will change when US goes to Daylight Savings this weekend and again when Sydney comes off DST (first Sunday in April)
I would have to disagree with this sir. Yesterday at work (Horizon Air SEA) we were going to have aircraft 424 flying our PUW/LWS 2214 flight. Weather was going down in Pullman so we swapped to aircraft 421 even though both were fine w/no mtx or anything because aircraft 421 is one of the few in out fleet at this time equipped with the WAAS system. So your statement is not toally true.Originally Posted by hiss srq
