Well as we all know by now President Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize. Now while that makes nice add to his resume I'm totally at a loss to why he deserved to win this award??? All I keep reading is that his "efforts" (note not "RESULTS") towards Middle East Peace is the reason he was awarded this honor.
Now can someone tell me what has he done towards Mid East peace? The Iraqi pull out was planned under Bush, we aren't leaving Afghanistan anytime soon, and Libya and Iran are laughing at us. Oh and we alienated our closet ally Israel. btw on the same day he got this award they were rioting in the streets of Jerusalem.
I'm not bashing Obama for winning this at all...but since when does only effort take precedent over results? President Bush while I'm not a huge fan of put in place vast humanitarian programs all throughout Africa. His efforts have saved tens of thousands of life's and greatly improved living conditions there. His efforts turned into real results but we don't see him getting the award.
