When I took off from JFK at 10 in the morning on the 8th it was just as bad.

Gordon - you flew out of JFK on the 8th? I also flew out on DL1861 to FLL that departed around 9:30 AM and it was pretty bad weather-wise. Trying to get a video of that takeoff through FL350.com...

I did indeed. I was supposed to leave on Friday night on LA533 to SCL but our flight was cancelled because of technical issues with the aircraft and LAN ended up flying up a new aircraft and moving the departure time to 9am on Saturday. Of course with the long take off queues we didn't take off until 10:45am.
