Blaze at Monte Carlo on the Las Vegas Strip
Three-alarm fire broke out about 11 a.m. on casino roof
LAS VEGAS - All guests were evacuated from the 32-story Monte Carlo Resort and Casino after a three-alarm fire broke out on the roof Friday, closing part of the Las Vegas Strip and snarling traffic as tourists flocked in for the weekend.
Live television video showed flames and plumes of black smoke spreading across the roof line from the center section of the 90,000-square-foot resort, which is home to more than 3,000 guest rooms and 256 luxury suites, including penthouse units on the flaming top floors, NBC affiliate KVBC reported.
