    Baku, Azerbaijan (GYD)

One of my early trips for work took me to Baku, Azerbaijan (GYD).

Similar to my report from Bishkek, this place was packed with Russian planes. My pictures are even worse than that trip though. Again, I used a point and shoot here as well.

Again, feel free to ask questions.

    This C-130 is from Belgium.

Man, I'd love to take my Ty-154 off-road!

    Hope you like.

    Yes, that's an A319.

I fell in love with Azerbaijan Airlines. Their scheme is not only gorgeous, but they have a very diverse fleet, sO I got to see that scheme on quite a few different types; Airbus, Boeings and Tupolevs!

in the second and last pix there is a A319 parked next to a TU-154. are those Azerbaijani gov't airplanes?
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.

    Nice shots Phil,
I was looking for the Azerbaijan 757 that is used for VIP movment in your shots. Did you see it there?
We had it at JFK in 2004 for VIP week when it was still painted in the old colors of the AHY. After seeing some that russian stuff that is frequently used for gvmnt flights on this ramps its kind of a disappointment that they would bring a 757. If they didn't have that 757 who knows what they would have brought instead.

Yes those are the VIP planes Matt.

Thanks guys. One thing that I would hate about my traveling was that I didn't have a buddy next to me to nudge and say "HOLY %$@#$%#%$^%#^&#%!!!!!!!! LOOK AT THAT!!"

I don't think those planes were used for VIP and gov't flights. I saw them parked at a terminal with people gathering as though it was a passenger flight. I could be wrong.

The 757 was replaced by the A319 (which actually is an A319CJ ) and is indeed used by the government.

Phil, as already stated, great stuff! I'm kinda fond of that AN-12, really unique in it's size/shape.

INNflight.....Is is being used in passenger service. Latest shot was October 2007.
Yea I was disappointed when they got that A319. SO many fo these VIP aircraft are going A319JC route.
