CAE Forms joint venture with Embraer

Montreal's CAE Inc., a world leader in flight training services, has forged a new joint venture with Brazil's Embraer to provide "comprehensive pilot and crew training" for two of the Brazilian aircraft manufacturer's new executive jets, the Phenom 100 very-light jet and Phenom 300 light jet. The new venture has been named Embraer CAE Training Services, LLC, and is scheduled to open operations in Dallas in late summer of 2008 and in Burgess Hill, U.K., in early 2009. "CAE's training expertise, combined with Embraer's product knowledge, will provide our Phenom customers the best training solution in the market," said Simon Newitt, Embraer director of customer training. To support the Phenom program, CAE, which has worked with Embraer for 10 years, has agreed to manufacture two Phenom full-flight simulators for use at the facilities. The Phenom 100 seats up to eight passengers and is expected to enter service in mid-2008, followed by the nine-seater Phenom 300 in mid-2009.

The folks up at CAE are great. They provide most of our training devices here at DAL.
