    JFK - 9/12/07

Enjoying my life of leisure while I can, I took advantage of today's near perfect weather to do some spotting. JFK was on the 31s, so I headed out to Firestone this afternoon. Got out there around 3pm, and here were the first two jets that came by:

    El Al Cargo 742

JetBlue #100 - first time I've seen this one!

First time I've see LTU new colors...

Been a while since I've seen this one.

    Cathy A340 climbing out.

Here's something I haven't seen in ages - Britten-Norman Islander of New England Airlines

Don't you just hate all the RJs at JFK these days :D

By around 4:30, the nice little puffys that were making for a nice background started to gang up and I ended up with more shadow then sun. I hung around a little longer, but didn't get much more and finally headed for home around 5. All in all, not a bad way to spend an afternoon.

Nice work Moose, that Islander at JFK must be pretty rare. I remember being on one at SJU some years ago and feeling very very small.

Very nice shots Moose, seems like you had a good day!
Well done on the JBlue 100 also! Guess it's missed SO easily in between all the others.

    Love the El Al.

    Was the Cathay a go-around?
And I, I took the path less traveled by
and that has made all the difference......yet...
I have a feeling a handle of people are going to be very interested in what I post in the near future.

No, he was a 31 departure. It looked like quite a few departures were making a big left hand turn around the airport and climbing up overhead to the north. Most were passing directly over me.

Nice to see Virgin Atlantic A340-300 again at JFK. I thought they retired already. And nice catch of AI 777 and EL AL Cargo 742 as well as the Cathay 346 flying overhead.

They still have 6 or 7 and even one is even in their new livery.
