No, that's a Nightsun on the rear - it's pointing rearward, that's just the side opposite the light that you see in the second photo. Here's a look at the back side as she flew over me on departure.Originally Posted by Gerard

That is Aviation 23. On PD radio they call themselves "Aviation 23". For the most part on ATC they use "Two Three
Foxtrot Hotel" but I did hear them once on LGA as "PD 23".
I saw the chopper that ressembles an Osprey and I spoke to the pilot, too. I forgot to jot-down the type of chopper. Can anybody help? We even boarded her from the rear.
That was the USMC CH-46E Sea Knight. Doesn't really look anything like the Osprey except for the twin rotors.Originally Posted by Speedbird1

You're right. I am basically into the commercial aircraft rather than the military ones. Yes, this is the aircraft that I was referring to. Thanks.
The Sea Knight was "supposed" to land with the other choppers quite some distance away from where it did, and on the other side of the ramp. The guys were out with the wands and maniacally signaling the chopper.... but they just flew right over and went where they wanted to go.. :D

tom, they're just jarheads. you can't expect them to listen to someone.
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.
