Wilds tuff. The damage is one thing, soemthing to say "diiiiick" to, but then you see the fire and it becomes more serious.
I hope there were no serious injuries or fatalities.

The description on YouTube says no one was injured, hopefully it's correct.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9
Whose oops was that, the bridge operators or the ships captain?
nwa FOREVER!
I would assume the bridge folks. You can see the draw bridge was raised and was on its way back down. So, they raised it for the boat, but apparently brought it down too soon.
I would assume there was some sort of mechanical failure and that someone didn't actually say "Lower it now...it'll make it."

Some of the comments claim the bridge operator was drunk, but due to some union protection(s) it was never proven.
Almost reminds me of the Staten Island Ferry crash a few years ago in that regard.

amazing how fragile the boat is compared to the bridge...
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.
I'd hate to be the insurance carrier on the ship, or the liability carrier of the bridge.

Well it was not bridge failure. As soon as the boat hit it, the bridge went back up. Very scary to be in the bridge at that point.
