    No idea

Lots of times a pilot will not get rid of an aircraft when things go south. I have seen where the spot is paid off for long term and the pilot goes into health problems....the family and pilot let the plane rot for years.

Could be a thousand other things...

that aztec has been in it's current tie down since i started visiting FRG 15 or so years ago, and has seen better days. nobody at the airport seems to know the true story behind it, either that or thy just don't want to share.
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.

i'd have to agree, but to a certain extent. if you want to shoot a few ILS approaches the ISP is the way to go. FRG is crazy with the sunday traffic. being # 20 for the field is no fun.

Hofstra played in Norfolk Thursday night, the jet flew there and back Thursday afternoon/night.

    Great shots Fred.

Good to see FRG so well documented with so many fine images.

<<MATS and the sunset a few months before flying for the last time! >>

What an absolute shame this one is gone. Its a major loss.

Even if the late model ex-TWA bird can be kept flying, the MATS version of the Constellation was distinctive.

That 737 was here with the Pittsburgh Penguins hockey team.

Flight Aware has N737Q coming into FRG sometime this morning from Raleigh.

Arrived around 1250local. Parked at Atlantic, apparently taking the Islanders to Pittsburgh around 1400.

    Guess MidWest was booked!

Darn Fred where was the sun! Sky King would be a great catch at FRG! Great pic.
