Alex, what's a "Ding Fare"? Is that something that needs to be acted upon quickly?
Josh Ding is a software program you download from Southwest. It runs in the background and every so often you hear a "ding". These are very limited time offers for some very very low fares. The Ding Alex is talking about is expired. Generaly these fares only last an hour or two. However if you have the extra cash and can book it you get some wild fares.Originally Posted by jakbar

Read the above post, lol. When a Ding fare comes down your hear a Ding open up the Ding application and it displays what specials they are offering. The Ding fare to BWI expired, that doesn't mean it won't happen again.Originally Posted by Mirrodie

I stopped flying WN a few years ago and well, in retrospect, I guess they dont need mmy business.
I cant undertsand ther logic. they chose to send the promo to someone who travels pretty regularly on WN. BUt when it came to me, they though, eh, we dont need his business. So they arent trying to reeel me back in at all.
wierd Southwest nuts.

I just got an email from Southwest with all the latest deals, and it says that the $29 between ISP and BWI must be purchased by midnight PST (3am EST), February 20.

dang i wish WN would do such things at AMA :D
Two wrongs might not make a right, but three rights make a left!
I moved my departure to 9:00 PM on March 19th. I figure I'm down there might as well do some spotting at BWI. Good chance to see maybe a military charter from ATA and some WN special paint jobs. Rented a car for the day, figure I'll head off to that spotters park. Invite is open to anyone who wants to take a ride with me, the car holds five. After the sun goes down I'll grab some dinner and head back to BWI.
Might as well chime in, tom let me know via PM his plans, so in that case, I cancelled my ISP trip, will use the fund for a day trip to Dallas.
so i will meet tom at his gate, and then go along with him.
i still have to report back to BWI by 4pm to catch my 6:50pm departure back home to STL.

IMPORTANT UPDATE:
You may/will not receive the free round trip ticket if you did not register for the Rapid Rewards program between February 15, 2006 and March 15, 2006.
I just spoke with a representative and this came up in the course of our conversation - she went to see if I was in fact eligible for the free reward, and it turns out that I had registered just one day before the promotion went official, which means that I effectively shut myself out of the deal.
If, like me, you registered for the Rapid Rewards program outside of the February 15 - March 15 period, call 1-214-792-4223 and tell them what the problem is. I had my account reconfigured to allow me to receive the reward, and it shouldn't be a problem for new members to have that done for them as well.
Now that I look at it, we should've known this all along...see the description at the bottom: http://www.southwest.com/rrenroll/islip.

Brian- are you saying current rapid reward members who were enrolled long time ago like Tom would NOT get the credit because he enroelled long before Feb 15th?
