Yeah, the shots you can get from that would be awesome, maybe the A-10's and F-18's will have good lighting......when the Red Arrows came in June the sky was perfect when they came back from the show.Quote:

Right now at FRG winds are 5 out of the SW, and tomorrow it is supposed to be 15 out of the SW. Landing runway 1 makes the most sence to me, maybe a little crosswind but seems like the best bet out of 4 runways.
Were the flight opperating out of runway 1 today?
The second one arrived after 10pm...the rest are suppose to be in tomorrow around 12:30 but may be late due to an aircraft issue...moose knows more than me, but time for bed.Quote:

A second Snowbird aircraft arrived a little after 10pm. They said the team was due in around 12:15 on Thursday, but they have a broke jet to recover first, and the arrival time is flexible.
Ouch, hopefully they have that fixed already, and yesterday they were using 1/19 and the they just switched to 14/32.

The weather forcast looks a little sketchy this weekend. I've switched back and forth 4 times trying to decide what day I head down to check out the show and which day I will hang around the airport.
Nice shot Fred! Me gusto mucho.
Amid the air show traffic, this plain white Saab 2000 stopped by for a quick visit, under the callsign "Justice 137", part of the DOJ prisoner transport program. Don't know if they were picking up, dropping off, or just getting gas.

This is what happened today:
All the planes that were supposed to come in came in, but the times were a little off.
David Windmiller flew a couple of times (where is he parked)?
The Golden Knights made a flight.
According to the signs near the main terminal you can meet the Thunderbirds Friday at 2PM
I got to meet Thunderbirds #3 and #8 8)

If I'm not mistaken, Dave is BASED at FRG so he would be in his own hangar.
Now...I got out a bit early today and made it to FRG to grab a few shots...
first two are from Tuesday when the weather was horrible...or so you thought (I love it)

(I know it's backlit, but it's my first catch of the Snowbirds)
...and Sean Tucker headed out for some practice.

I have a few of the F-18's & A-10's but I have one more early day tomorrow, so it's time I sign off.
Ok, thanks Tim, I heard John Klatt is there, is that true.

I thought he was from out east though.
No, John had to cancel this year. I'm not 100% but I think I remember him saying last year that he was headed back to the middle east flying an F-16 and was going to miss the air show season this year. If you go on his website, it hasn't been updated for this year yetQuote:

Well I guess number 8 is OK since it flew in the practice today.

Not necessarily - they did bring 2 two-seaters in, and one was still not on the ramp today. This morning, the D-model on the ramp had no number on the intake, so it's likely that's the one that they put the #8 on.Quote:

Outstanding shots as always.
I took a look at some shots from last night, and you can see the D-model on the ramp with the rest of the team doesn't have a number on the intake...

But if you look close, you see the pilot's name and intake cover are for the #7 jet:

I wish John was here this year, it doesn't seem quite the same wihtout him taking the News people up all week. He's one of my personal fav's in terms of civilian aviators but like I said, I think he's overseas defending freedom.

Well, there's a full show practice schedule, so most of the performers will be in and out of FRG.
Thanks Moose and Big Tim.....I took the day off from work so I can spend some time at the airport..... Hopefully will bump into you Moose and anybody else from NYCaviation web group.Quote:

Today there was a Snowbirds and T-Birds practice and the three horseman and Matt Chapman arrived, the times were pretty close but still off.
The Thunderbirds did not have the meet and greet but after their debrief they came to the main terminal for pictures and autographs
Later today 2 Navy jets came I dont know what type of plane it is but they are both parked near sheltair (They look like a Learjet but just not the same)
They could be in for Fleet Week...usually have a few around every year. They do not participate in the show, they just make the tarmac look really nice. :mrgreen:Quote:

No, two T-45s came in around 4:45 or so. The first was Rocket 4-0-5 who did a fast flyby on 1-9 then banked west and did a flybyQuote:

Yes, there are a couple of T-45s in, but there is also a T-39 Saberliner at the far end of the Sheltair ramp, near the fuel farm.Quote:

I'll try to get some shots up tonight.
Fly2e, nice set with the A-10's
A second T-39 came in on 1-4 while I was there.Quote:

The sun was very strong. I lathered up pretty good and still got a little red on my face. Of course being there for almost
six hours didnt help. The next two days should be cooler so bring a jacket or extra shirt. Even today with the sun out there
was a light breeze and I had to put my shirt on as it got a wee bit "chilly".
Yes, I was talking about the saberliners I was there at 4:45 but I didint see any T-45's.
I am debateing what I should wear because of the odd weather because it may be chilly.
The real question though is what is the line up (time wise) gonna be.
