Phoenix Coyotes are playing the Islanders tomorrow at 12.
Game is actually 3PM.
.> It will probably come back tomorrow (Sunday) in the morning, as the Coyotes go to Detroit after they play the Isles.
l
I stopped by around 2:30 and hadnt arrived. If I'm not mistaken they departed (32?) around 7:15.

Okay, so it's been a while since I've posted an airplane picture...here are two visitors to FRG on Saturday March 7th
ExpressJet EMB145 - transportation for St. John's basketball team.
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3592/...8f7078e4_o.jpg
Brought the Phoenix Coyotes to play the Islanders...didn't stay to bring them out though.
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3469/...c97e57bb_o.jpg
...and one regular visitor taking off on March 5th, a smoky G2B with the "ashcan" hush-kits.
Not like they helped, it was still loud.

I hope they take some seats out, LOL!! I'm 6'2" and the EMB 145 was/is a tight fit for me. I cant imagine these young
athletes comfortable on that plane.
john, that's a G-IIB, not a G-III.
How did I miss those curved winglets! Gotta stop posting when I'm so tired.Quote:

Mmmm, wonder why it went back to PHL unless they are using a diff jet to leave tonite or going home by bus? Or even
Amtrak? Flyers have game tomorrow home vs Boston.
maybe it might be by bus as the forcast for tonight is really crappy and I doubt they want to spend the night at FRG.
as much as i dislike that airplane i love this shot of it! great work as always dude.Quote:

That is the only reason that the plane is soo white! It really makes it pop at night.

Last night at 7PM the clouds were low and I definitely heard one fly over heading out NE.
Outstanding shots, both night & day. I was out there on Friday and Saturday and didn't see her. Oh well.
I saw the Miami Air 737 at FRG around Noon, waiting on the Islanders. I passed by again around 3pm, but they had already departed. As I was driving past the airport, I saw the Farmingdale FD "Technical Rescue" truck heading toward New Highway with lights & siren, so I decided to head down that way.
Looks like a little Saturn went through (actually under) the fence down along New Highway. There were a few posts knocked down, and the bottom of the fence was torn up, but the fence looked to be intact for the most part. There were about 6 police cars, two or three fire trucks, two ambulances, and several airport vehicles on the scene. I don't know that the driver suffered any injuries, I later saw the ambulances leave at a normal speed without sirens, etc. and it didn't look like there was significant damage to the car. As you can see, he got through the fence, across the access road, and onto the grass.
With all the emergency response, I didn't try to stop, but simply grabbed a few shots as I slowly drove past, two or three times

Thats why I get worried when I park outside of the fence.
Also I do have a scanner, but is there a way to listen to KFRG live from the internet?

Hey John just saw this in Newsday.

Still trying to figure out where the wall was?
Wow, that's sad to hear. I wonder if she had a medical problem that caused the crash, because from the looks of the car, I wouldn't think the crash was severe enough to cause her death.
From your pictures and report I was thinking the same thing.Quote:

Only as dangerous as you make it. The peeps here who frequent FRG know how to drive on that road and respect its crappiness!!
But I've had idiots who see that open road and think they are at a NASCAR race and go blasting past me.

I am surprisedthey haven't kept up with the road because an airport is right next to it, I am always sacred when I park next to it because some people dont know how to drive.
A few pages back I posted this

The road almost that bad again.... Don't worry, they will fill them during the airshow, right Moose?
not to mention the fact that everyone speeds there, and i mean really speeds. i've seen folks doing at least 60mph.Quote:

Thats sad, thats on the grave yard side right? The KFRG isnt as bad, but still bad. Why dont we all complain to TOB? I always see troopers but they are never there when some person is speeding or they ignore it.Quote:

I took it with my 2.0MP camera phone(sorry about the quality)....as you can see on the F4U the prop got ripped off and had a huge crack.....Does anyone have a clue of what happened??
All the aircraft displayed behind the 56th are fiberglass replicas, not actual aircraft.
Most of us who have spent any amount of time at FRG have seen this bad boy around the air patch (this is a shot from last summer). It's a 2008 Embraer EMB-135BJ. The N-number is - or at least was - N18BM. I recently found out what the BM stood for - Bernie Madoff. I found it now registered as N924AK, to the same Syosset-based charter company.
