Re: Today at Farmingdale 2008/2009
I just got back from the beach will a bad sunburn. I was realy surprised that the Horsemen came. After the P-51 & A-10 Heritage flight I thought they would have been a no show for today. Really glad they came though, I can't wait to see the 3 P-51's and A-10 in a heritage flight.
I'll try to get some shots up tonight.
Fly2e, nice set with the A-10's

No, two T-45s came in around 4:45 or so. The first was Rocket 4-0-5 who did a fast flyby on 1-9 then banked west and did a flyby
past the Tower then landed 1-4. The second one, Rocket 4-0-6 came about 15 minutes later normally (LOL) on 1-4. Both are at Sheltair.
Yes, there are a couple of T-45s in, but there is also a T-39 Saberliner at the far end of the Sheltair ramp, near the fuel farm.
A second T-39 came in on 1-4 while I was there.

The sun was very strong. I lathered up pretty good and still got a little red on my face. Of course being there for almost
six hours didnt help. The next two days should be cooler so bring a jacket or extra shirt. Even today with the sun out there
was a light breeze and I had to put my shirt on as it got a wee bit "chilly".
Re: Today at Farmingdale 2008/2009
Yes, I was talking about the saberliners I was there at 4:45 but I didint see any T-45's.
I am debateing what I should wear because of the odd weather because it may be chilly.
The real question though is what is the line up (time wise) gonna be.

The first one came in a little after that. Hard to miss as he did he did a fast flyby twice..

I would definitely bring a light jacket/sweatshirt. It was very sunny today but a breeze off the water had me putting
my shirt back on.

Today the Knights dropped at 9:15 and the Snowbirds came on at 10:30 so add an hour or so to both of those time
because of the earlier start to todays activities. FYI the Red Bull Mig/Helicopter demo and the Hornet came on before
the Snowbirds.
Enjoy your day.
Re: Today at Farmingdale 2008/2009
10:00 – 10:30 Golden Knight Flag/Jump
10:31 – 10:41 David Windmiller
10:42 – 10:52 Red Bull Mig
10:53 – 11:03 Red Bull Helicopter, Parachuters
11:04 – 11:14 Matt Chapman
11:15 – 12:00 Canadian Forces Snowbirds
12:01 – 12:13 Warbirds
12:14 – 12:39 A-10 & Heritage
12:40 – 12:58 GEICO Skytypers
12:59 – 1:12 Ed Hamill
1:13 – 1:28 F-18 Demo
1:29 – 1:39 The Horsemen
1:40 – 1:55 Sean Tucker
2:00 – 2:45 Thunderbirds
2:46 – 3:21 106th Rescue Wing
This is it, I think it doesnt make sense that it does not close with the T-birds. And I was hoping that one t-bird and snowbird would fly......oh what a nice shot that would be.

I forgot to post it here but the other day Stephen Colbert went on a media flight with the T-birds.
Re: Today at Farmingdale 2008/2009
So the Birds (Snow & Thunder) are using 1-4 for their departures and arrivals?
How about the Hornet and Warthog?
Thanks just trying to figure out where to hang tomorrow.
Interesting i heard possible showers AND fog in the morning, not sure when it will burn off or even
if it happens. Remember that today wasnt suppposed to be good but where I was in Woodbury today it
was quite nice.
Re: Today at Farmingdale 2008/2009
well the thunder birds always use 14 4 take off but then do a fly by over rwy 1 north bound the f-18 used 14 and the A10 uses 19 that is what they used today might be diffrent tomorrow

I was actually uncomfortable at the beach because of the high winds remember they exceeded 22MPH and they were steady so just because it was good here doesnt mean its good at the beach.

Thanks. Last year the Angels departed 1-4 on Sunday then came in 3-2 on a fast Flyby then landed 3-2.
I'll probably hang by the movie theater lot off 1-4 and around the 1-9 lot. Too crazy on New Highway. :)

Yup. I've gone from the beach to where I live and it could be a 10 degree difference. Another time I left my house it was
sunny and clear and as soon as I passed Merrick Road it was near zero visibilty. But at least it was sunny and clear.
BTW I guess the Knights have a different set of "Go, No Go" parameters than the Red Bulls or the ANG guys.
Re: Today at Farmingdale 2008/2009
Yeah, I hate the weather.
Anyway when the Knights came to the beach thats when the wind really picked up and it had to be like 30MPH, because Rob was talking to the Red bull and ANG guys and they have about the same Go, No go parameters but they were lucky and got in at the right time.

Except the 106th were aiming for show center and just couldn't make it because of the wind.
