Thanks. Supposed to be a stormy day with a cold front moving through.
So I'm going through pictures I took last week at FRG and one was of the nice looking R-44 Clipper that
hangars over by Atlantic, N272DW. This copter has been here for years and was also used during the air shows to ferry people back and forth from Jones Beach. On a number of occasions I heard them on FRG Tower advise they would be landing at an off site pad to the north. I figured must be some rich guy landing
on his property somewhere. So this morning I finally decided to check out who this might be since his website is on the side of the copter.

Well DUH ME!! when I see who operates this copter. (Getting old and slow :) )
Very nice indeed. And interesting reading.
BTW is this the same R-44 that used to sit in the Talon hangar?

Hmmmmm, 2pm...pray for good weather, I want to see that puppy launch!
Dont jinx it!!!!!!!!! I really want to see that bug in the air. It's very depressing passing by frg with no afterburner!Quote:

I wonder what will happen now?
Stopped by Sheltair this AM. Not afraid to admit that 72 is nicer than the bug. That thing is just drop dead gorgeous and clean. Chrome JT8s.....nice!
This just means I'm stuck in the office and will not get out see the departure! :evil:Quote:

Thats a real warplane, there. Love the demo squadrons and the Blues/T-Birds are always great. But IMO, theres something a bit extra special about seeing a "combat ready" aircraft like this Rhino was, especially from a squadron as esteemed as 213. Good stuff.
Now all we need to do is get word down to Oceana to have someone send a CAG bird up here!
Yep, you caught me in the background on top of my SUV, Dan !!! :D Ha !!Quote:

Usually to build cross country time...and at the same time, visit family.
Hadn't seen this thread. But I was pleasantly surprised.
At 1415, while in our front yard and as my 3 year old was hitting balls that I was pitching to him, (BTW, HOLY COW! My son is hitting balls. Thats nuts!) the Superhornet banking high over our home.
A very nice unexpected surprise. But she showboated for you guys, as the afterburners were not on and she gracefully banking slowly by, sounding more like a low 747 than a jet.
Nice pics guys!
