(20 OZ Dunkin coffee **EXTRA LARGE** TAKEN THIS MORNING)
This always scares me as this has been posted many times in the past
in this post but this year with all the financial issues, if this is not fixed (and I am
worried), some one will wipe into a row of people waiting for the Blue Angles to depart.
http://www.longislandwallpapers.com/..._s2h3v-M-1.jpg
(F-14 arrival that was suppose to be HUSH HUSH.... Can you imagine how many more will be here durning airshow?)
If someone hits the lip and wipes in to a crowd this will get a big reaction.
This is a big problem :(
Re: Today at Farmingdale 2008/2009
They really need to fix that road before something bad happens.
I'm gonna have to get out there really early during the airshow
Re: Today at Farmingdale 2008/2009
EXTRA LARGE coffee Fred?!?! That explains so very much lol!
Re: Today at Farmingdale 2008/2009
I'm thinking about changing my spotting location because of the condition of New Highway. Even though its harder to get a decent spot at the main terminal its better off then ending up next door.
Re: Today at Farmingdale 2008/2009
The last hockey charter of the year is sitting over in Sheltair. The Miami Air Boeing will take out the Penguins tonite after the Islander game and to the playoffs. The Islanders go home but had a decent
season which to build on.

Who are the lucky crew members for this mission?

Probably going to rename the airport after him soon.
But seriously, outstanding shots as always.

Wow, that first one is a gem.
Re: Today at Farmingdale 2008/2009
What, were you standing on the tail of the F-105 for that first shot??? Really nice work, Fred!

Thanks guys.....
I have a monopod, set up the camera in raw and put the camera in 12 second self timer. I lifted the camera up from the bottom of the monopod so the camera only was that high. I wish I had the lift but I did not want to ask my friend Larry to wait as he was tired. Glad you guys like it -Fred
Re: Today at Farmingdale 2008/2009
Took a ride over to FRG today after my daughters soccer game only intending to see if anything interesting around and grab some lunch and wound up hanging around for two hours. This due to a lot of Sunday helo traffic. Sikorskys 401CV, 139CC and 76DT, EC-120 12NY, Bell 430 N430HF and I saw a JetRanger land at Sheltair. I also watched Skytypers 2 and 6 crank up by their hangar at Atlantic and when they taxied out I drove over to watch them depart from 3-2 by Route 110 and saw them join up with three others. They departed to the south as a Flight of 5 on a training flight. Despite the chill in the air that was a pleasant sight to warm one up. Earlier I watched the 5 pilots line up along the fence by their hangar and do a "walk through"of their maneuvers. I guess thats what you would call it. That was pretty interesting to see.
And just before I was leaving I saw a lot of emergency vehicles "Code 3" racing west on Rt 109. There was
a "pin job" on 109 just west of 110. Checked that out, one car had to have the door cut off to get the patient out but no medevac called in so I finally headed home.
Re: Today at Farmingdale 2008/2009
Fred, are using HDR for most of your shots?

Re: Today at Farmingdale 2008/2009
I went to FRG today and it was pretty quiet except that the AAM pulled out a P-47 and there is a new hole in the fence.

Yes it was. I was sitting in my beach chair eating Wendys and catching some warm sun rays in the back of the
Sheltair parking lot for about an hour and nothing exciting in or out.
Beautiful day though, 8)
Re: Today at Farmingdale 2008/2009

Did they go back to SWF after I saw them come in this morning (8:10)?
Re: Today at Farmingdale 2008/2009
Thanks for the great capture of 155MM. The F/O was flying that leg and he is indeed old. I wont drop names but he is in his 70's. Excellent aviator. What are the chances of getting a copy of that photgraph?
Re: Today at Farmingdale 2008/2009
899AK has been through a lot of reg changes in its short life.
Re: Today at Farmingdale 2008/2009
Nice shots Fred,
I don't think I have ever seen a Cessna look so cool :)

Re: Today at Farmingdale 2008/2009
Awesome photos! Where are you taking these shots from, if I may ask? I'm still trying to figure out where at FRG I should be when the Blue Angels arrive next month. There are too many obstacles obscuring the view of the runways with the fences or walls everywhere.
BTW, it looks like N526ER was really close to stalling in that sequence.

That explained why the pilot was at 80K over the threshold with 90 degrees nose down! You should have seen the approaches. Carrier pilots would have been giving a salute as he passed the old tower at eye level with no power/full flaps! It was AWESOME!
Re: Today at Farmingdale 2008/2009
There was some action at FRG today.
The AAM took out all the warbirds and flew the WACO bi-plane
New Highway has construction markers which I assume will lead to repairs (better not be on airshow week!)
There is a pile of dirt across from the AAM ( runway 19 construction?)

The AAM activity was part of our model show...
I think they are working on taxiways across Rwy 1/19, the runway itself isn't being worked on currently.
Re: Today at Farmingdale 2008/2009
This guy was roaming around the runway this afternoon around 2:00PM by the American Air Power Museum, was hoping he was going to take off, but he didn't, at least while I was there.

He has been having issues with that airplane for YEARS!!! poor guy has the last flying type anywhere and is trying to get the engine running but having major engine issues. Even sent to Italy for fix.
