Yeah I caught them as they were taxing to 3-2. Any knowledge of why they were here out of their usual operating area (Newfoundland, St. Johns area)?
Great Dash shots Moose!
Here is a video I took this morning of the DC-7 Startup for departure

Wish I knew about the DeHavland.. I would have DASHED over there.
I just stumbled across it myself, Ryan. I stopped by the museum, then took a swing around the field after leaving, and saw it parked at Atlantic. I checked FlightAware and saw their departure time scheduled, so I returned to catch it.
Here is a walkthru of the DC-7 as it was left with me watching after her.... Not a person in site, what to do.... OH YEA!, Pull out the 6.5mm

Two interesting bizzers at Republic, both at Atlanti right now....
VP-COP sitting closest to the public fence, a Challenger 604
OE-INP sitting by the back fence, a Challenger 605 belonging to VistaJet.
I saw all the aircraft pulled out of Hangar 54. Painting inside?
Passed by FRG today, and got a few shots of the EMAS installation.

UH-60 Black Hawk?
Yes, it looks like an Army (or Guard) Black Hawk. Lack of a refueling probe on the front means it isn't an Air Force Pave Hawk.
was hoping Fred had some info on this. There were also quite a few very nice looking private jets all lined up.
I am sorry but I can not discuss movements at Sheltair, especially VIP Transports with many stars.
enough said. Thanks
Saw what I thought was a Chinook or sea knight out and about earlier...or was I seeiing things...
ken
No, a friend e-mailed me, asking about the same thing. He's in Massapequa, and saw two USMC CH-47s in and out of FRG several times during the day.
Saw it this morning, I was on wellwood about to pull into the office and it was heading south over what seemed like Captree to me.
I saw saw a single Chinook flying above the Great South Bay on Saturday/
Between the Black Hawk that I saw late last week, and all the activity this weekend, I wonder if something is up?
It's actually not that uncommon to see USMC Seaknights/Chinooks doing flight ops over the Great South Bay during the summer. I've must have seen it 3-4 times in the past 2 years.
Taken a few minutes ago...no airplanes tho!

Here is another shot from the same evening

Saw a Cape Air Cessna 402 departing around 5:45 this evening. Never even had a chance to grab the camera before he was past me...
Anyone taking any Hurricane precautions for aircraft at FRG?
N314RG, a Sikorsky 92 has just arrived at Republic, on Atlantic's ramp.
I stopped down for a few hours of stuffing this afternoon after battening hatches at home. There isn't much more room in that place right now - about the only things they have on the ramp are the F-105, F-111, T-33, a couple of other small non-flying aircraft, and a few trucks (as a buffer next to a couple of those tied town aircraft). Assuming there is no damage, it's going to take most of the week to get everything back into place for Labor Day weekend.

And an Army Guard UH-60, 27-043 departed Sheltair at 2:55 heading out to the North.
