To drunk to post... Picutures coming soon from tonight.....sorry.. I do reallize that this post reall is worthless without pictures. but if you knew how many times I had to backspace typing this, you would actually understand why I did not bother to attempt. :borat:
So after my youngest sons hockey game and with the sun shining brightly I decided to take a ride by FRG. As I pulled up to the Atlantic area at 12:30 an ExpressJet Embraer EMB-145XR, N14162, was offloading their many passengers while a fleet of limos, SUVs and Town Cars waited, most on the tarmac. I was wondering if this was a charter coming back from the Kentucky Derby. The ownership of the winner, Big Brown, all live on Long Island. In fact a large number of private/charter jets were in and out. At one point there were 3 lined up by Talon Air offloading. The Embraer left at 1:35PM.
The 5 T-34 Navy trainers taxied out to Runway 3-2 and by 1:40 began departing one at a time. In fact it took about 25 minutes before the last one took off. Last I heard they were being routed up to 6000 feet.
A nice Dornier 328 that had been over by Sheltair also departed. Good looking aircraft.
State Police helo N17SP, landed over by Hangar 5. This ship is based out of Stewart and earlier had been working east of FRG low level. They had a single pilot and flight medic (Mobile Life) on board.
And a silver MD500 Notar landed on a dolly by Sheltair. I see it is registered to Valkyrie Helicopters in the state of Washington. Long flight.
There was also a pretty nasty accident on Route 109 WB by New Highway. At least 3 vehicles involved including a Hummer that was on its roof.
I saw one aided laying on the ground as PD and FD raced up and Suffolk Aviation was on standby for a medevac but then given a disregard.
Hadnt had a busy "spotting" day like this in a long time. Finally.
All that, and you didn't stay for the horse hauler?

Today was to crazy from the get go to let everyone know what was going on, had the horse charter come in 2ce.. but that dornier was the president of liberia or something like that from africa.. so the Secret Service was all over the place.. even searched the inside of my car with out me knowing.. kinda pissed me off when i got in and found everything all over the place.. I helped take off the nasty looking blue canopy off felix and put on the new grey one!!.. still looks bad would of prefered black.. but anything is better then blue.. but one advantage to working at sheltair is this!

WOW! You are so lucky to have had a ride in a T-34!
Looks like you had a great time up there :borat:
That was a T-6. I passed by and saw a guy in an ugly green shirt climbing up on it - I guess it was you!Quote:

Third shot of Deb is quite the peach Fred.
I just might see you tonight for the Turkey's last move. Thank the Lord for the new canopy! :borat:
I think a buddy of mine was captaining that Kalitta 727, he told me he was extremely busy flying horses.

Nice shots guys!
Well i figured incase we crashed, they would be able to find me!.. i didnt realize how bright that shirt was until i saw the pics!
>All that, and you didn't stay for the horse hauler?<
He must have come in after I left (2:40PM). If I didnt have things to do I would have stayed longer. I love "busy" days like that when I'm hoping
from one side to the other.
BTW, where IS Felix going?
>BTW, where IS Felix going?<
Uh okay let's just FORGET I asked this stupid question and just move on from here.
(Typing this just after seeing the large amount of pictures in the thread "Felix Heads Home(lots Of Pics)"
Took a run by FRG today and saw two dark colored 407s tied down in the front of Hangar 5 by Atlantic Aviation. Checked the N #s (N135GZ and
N80048) and saw they were owned by Grizzly Helo Leasing of Helena, Montana. Long way from home. Actually just saw on Flightaware that
135GZ came in last night (11:41) to EWR from Atlantic City. Ferry flights?
around 12ish.. we had a c-130 come in for about 30 min parked over by the main terminal... it was from Rhode Island.. also in our hangar we have the Air Force Reserve, and 2 of the ANG extra 300's!!!.. ill get some pics tomorrow!
There's a new resident at the Airpower Museum - they have obtained a second L-39. She looks fresh from the Czech Air Force. Still has the Czech markings, paint, and a ton of stencils I can't read  We may see her flying this weekend.

Hey a little off topic but is there any reason why the skeleton of the NYHelicopter S-58T has been sitting there off the runway for YEARS?
Is it a memrial or something?
I think it's used for training for the fire squad. I could be wrong.Quote:

Sean Tuckers son has a NEW ORACLE FLYER...looks like an extra 300!!!!
NICE paint like dad!! I saw the photo flight takeoff and landing and got shots...but I am at work. 8)
Last I checked, Angels were due in at about 9:30am on Thursday. Practice for them is 2pm on friday.
Took a quick swing by the airport today, saw Klatt take off around 9am....memory cards are blank, batts full, scanner is in the truck, tripod is on standby...I'm getting excited!!
that extra is one of two used by the tutima academy of aviation safety. one is painted in oracle colors while the other is in tutima paint. they're based in King City, CA (KKIC) which has a kick ass taqueria only 4 blocks from the airport! http://www.tutimaacademy.com/Quote:

< Actually flew on one from East 34st to JFK when it operated as the airport shuttle. It was the first leg of our honeymoon trip to Hawaii
back in 83.
Took a ride today with a friend and I were trying to setup for OVER A YEAR.... The
last time I was with Paul he was telling me that he was going to take the day off of
work to take ME up!
I shot him leaving
http://www.longislandwallpapers.com/...10_wHNtg-S.jpg
Then a shot of him arriving!
http://www.longislandwallpapers.com/...87_KCzcA-S.jpg
Waited as the beautiful bird comes to a stop but the engine was never stopped!!!
I see a smile and the a wave....but slowly I realize, he is not waving...but asking me
to go. I start my (well trained) no when I see my good friend Charlie shaking his
head YES! He starts yelling "I got him...GOODBYE!" and I look down at my son
Jack, He really wants to go...but I am truly sorry it was a two seater as HE loves
aviation as much as I do!

Awwww YEA!

This was a runway that I never used, 3 down.... 1 to go!
http://www.longislandwallpapers.com/...05_oH3zi-S.jpg
I am in the biggest head turner around.....Everyone love a shiny cute little noisy
airplane....right? But still can not take the spotter out of me!

The Sights the sound the tastes the smells, I was in complete sensory overload and
had no idea what was to happen next.

Congrats Fred on finally getting that ride accomplished!
Nice shots fred.
Looks like you had a great time!
So Fred you FINALLY went flying with Paul... funny thing is that one of my friends - that I went to school with - is Paul's nephew, and so I got to go flying with him as a result!
Wild ass weather today! I cannot wait for the weekend!

Parked over at SheltAir. Owned by North Flight EMS. Arrived Wednesday just after Noon from Michigan using a Lifeguard call sign, and returned home to Traverse City, MI a few hours later.
