Right now, I don't have any new info about when the Super Hornet will be actually arriving
on Thursday, or what NAVY squadron it is from, BUT I did hear it could possibly be a
Super Hornet that's less than 4 months old, so keep your fingers crossed for a brand new
SUPER BUG arriving at FRG on Thursday, because that would definitely be SWEET to see !! :borat:
AND HEAR!!!!!! 8)Quote:

Holy **** fred! What happened? Did it slam into slam into another car and go on fire or just some engine troubles?
btw- I saw some of those big paving trucks going on New Highway today, does anyone know if they are just filling in remaining holes or repaving it?
The driver heard a pop and pulled over..... Gasline went and so did the engine compartmentQuote:

Actually Steve shown here had it out within seconds... It was like he did that 3 times a day everyday. I was pissed he did it so fast as I had no take to take pictures of the fraction of the moment he gave me. Most firemen would take a minute or so to get everything prepped, but AARF was acting faster than most fire departments would if there was a family stuck inside.
To say I was stunned was an understatement! IT WAS AWESOME and I should have run Video!
AARF has seen a lot of action lately between this and the Cessna's.
Nice shots Fred. See we hang out one night and you are chasing fires.

On a side note...that was in Farmingdale too, but not at the airport!
Great shots, great lighting.
Wow, I've been meaning to call them to pick up my scrap.....
wonder if I'll get better rates now!!
As for the fire, who is betting the mafia set it?

Saw the smoke coming home and figured it was in the FRG area and got a little nervous.
Just heard the Super Hornet should be arriving this morning between 10:00 - 10:30AM !! :borat:
BTW, New Highway is still closed for repaving this week, correct ??
ts 12:02 and something just blasted over my office? Superhornet?

Super Hornet lands at 12:01 pm damn that was loud.
It's a GROWLER!!! :)
Is that an EF-18? Sure looks like it!
EA-18G I believe...
I think you are right, Steve - I've seen it both ways, but on Boeing's web site, they refer to it as the EA-18G
What are those pods under the wings with the mini-propellers?
The main engines. :mrgreen:Quote:

FYI- They parked the Horse Ramp in front of the Growler in order to shield the front view of
some of the sensitive electronic pods, but you can still get a good side shot the aircraft !!
They also said it's supposed to be departing around 10AM on Fri. morning.
