Looks like Delta flew an MD90 into FRG to pickup the Capitals after their game vs. the Islanders. Almost...almost, makes me wish I was at work.

Yeah, last night the Red Wings had there MD-81 back at FRG again and tonight Delta used an MD-90 to pick up the Caps !
Very nice story Slipkid65! There is no other place on this world like FRG lol.
Nice story Skipkid. I too have flown many hours in 8149R and a few in 5860V. Most of my time was in 47825, a turbo arrow.

Bell 407 N407EP (c/n 53116) at Republic Airport, Farmingdale, New York, on December 4, 2013. The aircraft is owned by TTM Corporation but operated by the New York City Department of Environmental Protection Police.
Can anyone provide any background about this helicopter? Any idea where it's based?
Thanks!
Tom
Did you put up a picture as I am not getting anything except a box with a question mark.
I know NYC DEP used to fly a JetRanger and State DEP flew a copter which for awhile I think was based up in Stewart. They used to patrol all the reservoirs. And the Fed EPA used to fly a Huey Bell 212 w/pontoons back in the 90s and had upgraded to a Twinstar some years back but havent seen that in awhile. Used to fly around low and dip down for water samples.

FYI- Blue Angel #7 is at the Main Terminal at FRG right now.
Any News on Departure Date / Time?
Thought I heard something go over earlier. Does he usually hang around a while?
Came in again this afternoon from the NW around 12:45. I was in the parking lot by Main Terminal, knew a copter coming in but not what type. When I saw him low and fast SB along 110 I headed over to Atlantic. SOB was already taxing onto back ramp of Atlantic by the time I got there!! Shutdown, refueled and hung out for about an hour before flying out to the NE. Now registered to company in Montana but used by Construction Helicopters Inc for heavy lifting!!
Hollywood at Republic returns again!! Main Terminal filled with film crew!! They were filming on the tarmac outside the Main Terminal with a grey Mustang (I believe) buzzing around and an SUV with a camera attached to a long roof boom following them!! Also saw the area by door the back of the Sheltair hangar coned off!! Not sure if one has to do with the other!!
From Newsday, it looks like they were filming a new movie "John Wick" with Keanu Reeves over near SheltAir on Saturday. The SUV with the boom was in the background of the photo on their FB page, so the action you saw at the terminal may all be related.
I just spotted a Miami Air B734 land to deliver a sports team. This aircraft is the white, with black belly and green cheatline. She was originally leased to the Miami Heat and wore those
colors some years ago. I'll post pics later.
Shes parked on the southwest side of the field off Rte 109.
Not sure how long she'll be there for, but you can check here:

Awful job by SC Dept of Highways or whoever is in charge of plowing the roads!! New Highway from Conklin to just before the turn by Runway 3-2 is awful!! Especially the southbound lane!! Looks like a plow never came by!!
Two hockey charters in today!! The St Louis Blues 737 came in around 2:40 on Runway 14 just as the snow started and at 6:50 the Islanders charter came in on Runway 1-4 also. Got a look at that. Was outside cleaning car, snow over, and they came in just below the clouds!! Probably leave tomorrow, heading up to Boston for Mondays game.
BTW Isles robbed today but thats an Off Topic discussion, LOL!!
FYI- the second Swift 737 you saw arriving around 6:50 was actually the Bruins charter from PHL to FRG for their game against the Islanders tomorrow night here on LI. BTW, it apparently had to circle around FRG a few times while it was snowing lightly before it landed and then about an hour later it departed for BED, so the Swift 737 should be returning again sometime on Monday to pick up the Bruins after their game.
Swift 737 flight planned to FRG today. ETA 1600 local.

just saw a newsday article that says 2 F-16's and a UH-60 will be flying over the Hudson tomorrow and head over to FRG.
Is there any Scheduled Military Flyover for the SuperBowl on Sunday. Where will they be staying?
More info here also:

Two F-16s, a Citation 550 aircraft and a UH-60 helicopter will take part in the exercise at 4:30 a.m.
Wednesday over the Hudson River in the Bronx in preparation for Sunday’s Super Bowl flyover.
The flyover will be conducted about 5,000 to 7,000 feet up. and is expected to last for about an hour.
After the exercise, the aircraft will land at Long Island’s Farmingdale Airport.
It's just too bad it's supposed to be SNOWING in the morning but hopefully we'll
be able to see the 2 F-16s, Citation 550 and UH-60 takeoff from FRG on Sunday !!
Why the Citation and whose is it?
The Marine Corps flies the Citation as the UC-35 for personnel/cargo transport - could be one of theirs. I guess with the F-16s and Blackhawk, you get a multi-service flyover for the Super Bowl.
Update: the 2 F-16s, Citation and Blackhawk participating in the exercise (that has now been pushed back until Thurs. morning) are for Super Bowl Air Defense preparations only. The actual Super Bowl Flyover will be a 12-ship flyover consisting of Chinooks, Apaches and Blackhawks according to these links:

Here's a video link of inside a security flight over MetLife Stadium from FOX 5 news also:

They still going to be stationed at FRG during the next few days? The F-16s I mean. And thanks John for the Citation info.
