This sucks!! I was there once on a trip to LA - the most awesome spotting location - great for food too - and - the people are really friendly!! Hope the spotters don't lose the land - there is a public parking area next to it that is used to!!
Mark Eric and I were just talking about this last night. It is absolutely on my list to visit next month.
We haven't announced officially, but we will be having an event October 18th at Proud Bird. Details to come. Very sad news. It's like Republic's Fighter Group al over again.
The rent is ridiculous. My Lord.
I've eaten there a few times. Best though was 2004 Airliners International Dinner. Travolta 707 flew right past the window.
I've been to LA many times for work and spotting but have never eaten there. Definitely looking forward to having a nice dinner there.
Thats like what they did to Aeroparque Resturant at TJSJ in San Juan Puerto Rico. They closed that resturant in 2011, what a shame though, they had good food there.
Here's a photo I took from there back in 2007

Shame. I ate their for the first time in May of 2013. Club sandwich and patio seating to watch the 25L arrivals was a fine way to spend the early afternoon. It will be missed.
As somewhat of a "last call" for enthusiasts, our LAX Spotters Weekend will have an event that Friday on October 18th at Proud Bird, hosted by Singapore Airlines. Hors d'oeuvre and cocktails from 7pm-9pm in the LeMay Room, which we will have to cap to the first 75 people that show up.
Hope to see you folks there :)
