Lens manufacturing!

Wow! Very interesting find Adam. That truly was fascinating! I can understand why a lens like that cost as much as it does. The shear human labor that goes into just one of those 500mm units must make up the majority of the production costs.

That was really neat. I never really gave much thought to how they're made, it's pretty amazing.
