I will be out there. Don't know if I am doing JFK or LGA as of yet.
Eric
Pretty sure that Phil and I are headed out on Sunday. He'll probably want to hit both JFK and LGA....I'm sure he'll reply to this as well, with more details.
It'll be my first non-frigid day out! :)
Sunday's dont work for me, but have a great day.
Sorry boys I won't be out spotting for most of April and if not May. Time to get the yard and boat ready for the season. So I'll be raking my front lawn on Sunday, oh joy.
Tom--want me to bring momma trude out to help you rake? haha
I will be spotting in Dallas again this weekend, I sure hope to catch an ATA L1011 like Tom was able to do!
Alex
Spring Foward this Weekend. Extra Hour of light.

Probably won't be out spotting this weekend. Sunday I'll be at the Mets Pre-season Workout at Shea, although if LGA is landing 31, I may get to do some spotting from the stands!
Nah, we LOSE an hour of sleep, which sucks...but it's a true sign of spring, which is awesome. hahQuote:

Though not to be supportive of Tommy, he comes outin the brutal cold all winter, but stays home in the PEAK of the aviation photography season; April and May. lol
Well I'll be flying out of LGA on Sunday afternoon (~2PM LGA-DEN flight on a UAL 757). Would be great if someone could get my bird on t/o!
I am flying in from Tampa on Saturday-Monday. I'm looking to spot/photograph w/ some people. I'm nervous about going it alone, I've already had one police encounter this week. LOL I WILL have a car.

If the sun is out Monday I will probably head out Mario, let me know.Quote:

Here's the celebrity of the day. I really still can't believe the PSA colors are flying again, I have to hand it to U.S Airways on a job well done.

Well, seen at 5:49pm, on Sunday, April 2nd over Staten Island... hope someone got it a bit closer...

We were all at Howard Beach when Wunala came in. Maybe some lucky photog was at Costco. I was on the phone with Phil when he said "Wunala is on 31R" I ended my day right there. And once again we some how missed Maxjet. The plane landed without anybody seeing it. Also on my way home I saw the Air Canada E190, Icelandair 757 with Winglets and a LOT 767 Hybrid with a Green tail.
Was a great day spotting, Good people, Good Spotting.
Eric
Hey Guys,
Did you catch that PSA around 4:30pm yesterday? I've got mine that came from BOS at 3:00pm and left around 3:50pm to La Guardia.
Here is my shot:

Rafal
Tom looks like you were the only one to get her. We were standing on the beach at Howard Beach and I look through my view finder and I'm like "there's Wunala!" Oh well what can you do?? Oh course we missed the ever elusive MaxJet again. I think Eric is going to make it a personal quest to capture her.
Nice shots everybody, I was confined to LGA as I was at work but spent some time outside on the ramp enjoying the simply "Amazing" weather and having fun shooting the PSA "RetroJet". It was actually a great day at LGA, not long after my shift started got the Pink Song and two US 319's in the new colors (would see a third later on) we now have 746, 747, and 749 in the new colors and 748 should be next for repaint between the AL and PI birds (745 and 744). The PSA bird N742PS arrived around 1700 and departed an hour later, lots of nice comments on the ground frequency, one pilot said that sure is nice but they should bring back the Piedmont Blue, I wanted so bad to jump on ground and say in about 3 and a half weeks we will ! The second biggest highlight of the day was a beautiful BBJ I had never seen at LGA before
http://www.jetphotos.net/viewphoto.php?id=5674760
The gang who came over from JFK for the PSA bird missed this beauty by about 20 mins. And the final highlight of the day was while I was outside as a DL 763 did a go around on 31 due to an AA 757 departing 4 !
As of last night N742PS routing's put in on the Shuttle thru Friday morning, and N745VJ should be on line around April 10th, with N744P around April 27th. I think April is going to be a fun month at LGA !
Cheers
LGA777
Could it be that there was no Maxjet Flight Yesterday. According to the Maxjet Website "We cannot find any flights matching your criteria" for a flight from London to New York April 2nd. Is it possible that they used the Maxjet Aircraft that was allready at JFK for the departure which again according to the website it departed JFK at 6:34 which is accurate because I saw it push from the gate around that time.
There is always next Sunday, I will try for it again.
Eric
Yes, they did a swap of a/c yesterday. (re: Maxjet)
Mike
Great shots on the PSA!
I vote to forgo the current USairways colors and paint em all PSA!
(you know what...only the few like ourselves here give a good damn about this. The traveling public won't notice let alone understand the history...or care!)
Bravo Tom!Quote:

Pardon the shameless plug.
Ugh...nice pic you got of me, Chris. I look pissed...but I was really just concentrating...very...hard. haha
Here are some of my shots from yesterday. Mostly edited on Phil's desktop...I'm sure most of you will see the improvements...well, hopefully at least. :)
I'd been looking forward to shooting at Planeview...while the new angle and (close) distance was a bit challenging at first, I began to get the hang of it.

I'm pretty much guaranteed Phil's camera whenever one of these comes around. ;)

Hah...stole this one while Phil was busy chatting with the po-lice.

And....back to JFK
http://www.nycaviation.com/hosting/E...040206_Mel.jpg
This was my first catch at Costco...saw the soccer nose and thought the camera would be ripped from my poor fingers...but Phil let me finish it out. (Thanks baby)

Wow, great photos, looks like I should visit LGA (and JFK) again.... Mel's NW 752 shot is my favorite.
One more that I just edited....just shows how nice the light was yesterday afternoon.
http://www.nycaviation.com/hosting/A...Arr_040206.jpg
I'm so pissed I had to call it a day at 11am, I missed out on some crazy stuff! The Aerolineas and Air Jamaica 343s were nice to see on the radar, as was the LH Cargo MD11. Good thing PSA'll be a pseudo-regular at LGA, I still need to get my own shot.
As for Wunala, well, I'd be suicidal if you guys were at Costco, let's just put it that way... :)
Mel, those are definitely an improvement over some of your older shots. I agree with Jurgen...the Northwest 752 is fantastic! I also really like your AA 772. However, the whites in the American Eagle, El Al, and Lufthansa shots do look a little blown out, so try editing those from scratch with a little less brightness.
Looks like next Sunday will have the same weather and winds. I know I'll (want to) be out there!
Brian
Oh, what the hell. Here are some shots from MacNeil Park and Planeview before I packed it in.
