Very cool!
Man, I'd like to see that thing leave! Anyone know when it departs?
That's a C-123 Provider, Gerald. They were used by the USAF and others from the early 1950s into the 1970s. Most notably, they were used in the Agent Orange spaying in Vietnam. This one is owned by the Air Heritage Museum in PA and makes the air show circuit. If you remember the movie "Con Air", they used a C-123 (not this one) in that movie.
in town for the spider man shoot?
It's probably either for the "Amazing Spiderman 2" being shot at Grumman Studios or the
"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" movie that they're shooting down at Jones Beach West End Field.
BTW, I found this cool takeoff video of that C-123 "Thunder Pig" from back in 2011.

Where is "Grumman Studios"? I've never heard of it!
Grumman Studios took over some of the old Grumman Plants in Bethpage.
Here's a video tour of the Grumman Studios

FYI- I went over to FRG today and they're shooting a TV pilot called "Believe" with the C-123.
They taxied the C-123 from SheltAir over to the Main Terminal to do more filming over there too.
I also talked to one of the American Heritage Pilots with the C-123 and he said if all goes well
they should be departing back to the Pittsburgh Area in the morning.

Nothing interesting has arrived in over a month, or is everyone too busy now that spring is REALLY here?
Actually, Friday afternoon there was a 737 that came in over 110 to land on R14. Didn't get a chance to look it up as I was stuck in brutal traffic trying to get home.
That would probably have been either the Islanders or Penguins flying in for their playoff game. They played in PIT on Thursday night, and at the Coliseum on Saturday. Don't remember what the Pens use for their charter, but the Islanders normally fly a Miami Air 737.
ETA: The Penguins flew in on Friday afternoon, Miami Air 734, arrived just after Noon. Islanders flew in Thursday night after the game.

Other than the Hockey Charters, which are now done, it has been fairly quiet. Just the usual bizzers. There was a Sabreliner in last week, but nothing special about it.
Air Show is in two weeks, things will pick up.
First air show arrivals should start showing up middle of next week...me included.
Looking forward to it, I just wish we had some more jet power :(
Over at Atlantic this afternoon an Aerospatiale Super Puma came in about 3pm. Looks like they parked it for the night. N7801F registered to a no name company in Washington state.
I was on the WB Northern Parkway just about to get off at Broad Hollow Road when I saw an all white Super Puma race past a few miles ahead of me NB. This was about 9:07AM. Had just read your post a half hour earlier and thought "Sumbitch there it goes"!!
A bit late in posting...however, this bird was quite a distance from it's home base.

Australia?, Thats some Puddle Jump. ;-)
FYI- the Goodyear Blimp "Spirit of Goodyear" is over at FRG right now. Hopefully it will be around FRG for a few days since it's scheduled to provide live aerial HD TV coverage for NBC of the Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular.
The Goodyear Blimp will be doing some flights from FRG tomorrow, weather permitting, and it will be based at FRG until at least Thurs. for the Macy's 4th of July Fireworks in NYC.
It came in last night around 10.
The Goodyear Blimp was practicing at FRG today and did 4 take-offs and landings between 3 and 5PM today. Weather permitting they were going to still try and head into NYC this evening to test out their HD camera with NBC for their Fireworks TV coverage tomorrow night. If all goes well they should be heading into NYC between 3 and 4PM tomorrow and will depart FRG on Friday morning.
Has any one taken any pictures yet?
Nice shots Isaac, the skies were alot better than yesterday and it was good seeing you at FRG today.
Great shots. Thanks for sharing Isaac!
