I'll put this in the FRG thread since I figure the ship was working FRG tower.
Was heading up to Syosset on Jericho Turnpike making a turn on Jackson to go North when all of a sudden I
spy a low flying helicopter west of me. It then turned and flew West. This was around 5:30 or so. When we
reached our destination (MIMS) on Berry Hill Road it was now east of us still low. I believe it was N355AG the
Al Cerullo TwinStar even though it was dark I know that ship has a bright red anti-collision light on its belly.
Anyone know what they were up to? Filming?
Filming for the movie with Ang. Joile. That movie better be one hell of a block buster when it is done for as much jet fuel as those guys are burning. LOL Not that I am some sort of enviormentalist. Al has been REALLY busy these months since the Memorial Day air show.
Thanks and YES cool to see Al flying Sully on the TLC special.Quote:

Gonna try for pics later, but the good camera is home. :(
Crap. I have been dying to see that 9 and of course this is the week I am not in the office there.
If only she was moved back 10 feet, or my truck was another two feet taller...

I agree 100%, I only had the p&s with me, so it was too close for me to get anything workable.Quote:

N12175 still sitting on the south end of Sheltair.
Quiet and a steady/coldy rain began falling just as I got home.
Around 3:20 while watching football I heard a copter pass by my house low heading east.
It was TwinStar N179MT flying well below 1000 in the rainy weather following the LIE EB.
BBJ N888AQ is parked over at SheltAir (it's close to the fence, not easy to shoot...)

According to FlightAware, it came in Wednesday night, nothing on the schedule about a departure date/time. Per the FAA registry, it's registered to White Sapphire LLC, which looks to part of the Sapir Organization, a high-end commercial real estate company in NYC.

Still there as of Saturday 3PM.
I did not seem to have an issue :wink:Quote:

What is the flight time from FRG to IND?
Also a nice blue/grey Bell 407 departed from the Atlantic area heading NW but returned soon after as they
encountered inclement weather. N407MS. A new tenant or visitor?
Moose is right. This is based at Sheltair in ISP...although I know they were thinking of looking around at a new place. (Info per my contact there). Here is a link to the Sapir's. http://www.sapir.com/index.phpQuote:

Derf get me in there. I want that 707 in there. The 737 will be my next shot
Moose great catch!
Thanks, Fred!
There's no 707 at FRG...Quote:

Hahahah I just got a call from someone about that jet being there. A customer service agent I am friendly with at Atlantic called me and was like "Is there a such thing as a 2 engined BAE146? There is one across the field right now" I almost fell out of my seat laughing hysterically.
Thunderbird 7 is making the rounds to air show locations at this time, don't know when he is due into the area but if he shows up at Republic hopefully somebody will see it and pass it on. Thanks!
Apparently # 8 was at Kennedy last week, nevermind.
I see Gov Patterson was at Hofstra today announcing his run for governor. Did he fly into FRG? I ask that since he was
flying up to Rochester after that. Wonder if he used a fixed wing or one of the State Bell 430s. If a copter possibly they
secured an LZ by Hofstra instead,
Thanks.
That would explain the NY State King Air 350 @ Atlantic this morning. There were no NYC helo's here at FRG today.Quote:

With all the potholes opening up on New Highway and elsewhere that would be a good vehicle to be driving
around in.
It is not that bad!Quote:

You should see the right lane before the Rockaway Boulivard exit on the belt parkway. You cant drive on it its so bad.
Been a busy day here or I would have posted sooner. Two, not 1, but two, 737's sitting on Atlantic's ramp. N801TJ - Swift Aviation B737-400, carrying the Chicago Blackhawks, and a Miami Air B737-800 for the Islanders. Both scheduled to depart after the game tonight.
